Oh wow. I'm complainin' bout this.
    Yknow why?
Even with the wynntills map, the wynncraft map, you get lost.
I remember; the only way I could leave was slooooowly ascending using a waterfall.
    A waterfall... 20 blocks high? 30?
Yeah, it's called the canyon of the lost. You're meant to get lost. But yeah, just no. I hate it. And, if you wanna get past that bandit gate, you gotta do parkour or a high level quest. Also, that's hard parkour I just mentioned and everytime you fall, you fear for your life as being attacked by the mobs is just... bad. [I'm an assasin]
Aaaanywas,... Thanos. Thanos. There's quests for that. It's so easy to leave, but so hard to spot the entrance. You have to memorize it. One thing I like though, once you get lost, you're probably gonna go exploring the loot chest caves. Oh boi, they're great. Back to Thanos; You gotta do quests there, but... why is the entrance on the other side of Ozoth's Spire? Why? It's so ffin simple to enter Ozoth's Spire, and so hard to find Thanos! For real, game, why!
    Aaaaaaaaaa
ok this is it I guess for now.

The Canyon is honestly easier to navigate than the Swamp or Sky Islands.

Thanos is easy to get to.

I feel like it's not that hard to navigate the Canyon of the Lost, especially with the recently added shortcut from Thanos to Rodoroc. Going to the Hive, Thesead, Bantisu Temple, Sakura Dojo and the fort is all pretty easy to do, and everything besides that can be a bit hard to reach, yes,but I think keeping a bit of the 'Lost' adds to it. However, I would like maybe a bit clearer or easier way of getting to 'upper' CotL from below, as there's basically one way (the one to the Marauder's Dues quest) from Thanos-side and that's it.
If you're having trouble with finding Thanos, well, let's just say that I get why you seem so dislike CotL so much.

You lootrun in CotL (and are apparently able to go through walls in the process, I've seen your lootrun route), of course you'd find it easy to navigate. It is most certainly harder to navigate than the swamp and about similar to the Sky Islands, in the way that certain places are easy to get to once you know where they are, but other parts are really hard to find.

My route definitely involves quite a few caves and vertical Escape spamming. I could see it being harder to navigate than the swamp, but I maintain that Sky Islands is more confusing.

When I’m lost and looking for coords I usually just align myself correctly with the X coord then with the Z. Cotl makes that impossible, cuz you are going to be walking through 200 block tall mountains in the process. What I do now, is drop a way point at those coords (I use xaero’s minimap) and then try to find my way around. Always climb on cliffs and spam movement spell (mage and warrior work best).

I mean CotL is easy to memorise if you use it a lot for transportation, grinding or quests. It's not really a maze either, it just has some dead-ends that bother you which you can avoid by memorising general paths to areas. The problem is Aldorei Valley

Eltom and Thesead are close to/in mountainous areas (on the upper canyon) so using the mountains to go over the canyon is the best choice for them

For mage and warrior (and kinda assassin) - when jumping off a cliff to a valley far down below, you can spam movement spell to boost yourself as far as possible off of the mountain. Archer is good for jumping over small hills and scaling large mountains. Since that is very effective, and the other classes can't do it, I wanted to suggest something that warriors and mages can do to go as far as possible from the cliff of a mountain.

I agree with all above statements saying that the Sky Islands are more difficult to navigate.
You can think of the Canyon as consisting of three or four main zones: Pre-Thanos, the big middleish lower area, the higher area that flanks the lower area, and the Post-Thesead area. You just have to know how to get between these areas.

That was a little vague, but if you do some exploring you'll get the gist of what I'm trying to say.

Just spend time in an area, and you will begin to know it. I remember when I first got there, it took me minutes to find Thanos/the gate to Thesead. Now I know pretty much the entire northern half of the canyon. Honestly, Ragni Plains is harder for me. There's less ways, and all the farms and lakes look kinda similar. After a year of playing, I still can't walk from Ragni to Nemract in a straight line.

The name definitely fits. I even hand drew a map of all the many paths and how they intersect when I first explored it. But by now I have it memorised. Personally it's my favourite area after Sky Islands. I love the intricacy, but that's just me I guess. :P

it is SOOOOO hard to memorise because the valley is small so it's mostly not outdoors and there are not much to indicate where you're supposed to be going.
don't start me on how the town is like in 3 different parts with weird cave transitions
