i dont think thats how mmorpgs work or most games work does maplestory, black desert online, maplestory 2, skyrim, terraria, fortnite, ring of elysium, warframe, or many other games like it have an infinite inventory space

they (the developers) often like to think things realistically and how players apply spacing and inventory usage in their playthroughs, whether it's hoarding every item in existance with a 500+ space bank to discarding every useless item until you can sell a more profitable one, etc. etc. this applies to crafting ingredients too. although wynncraft is "mythical" and "fiction" there has to be certain degree of realism to, in turn, provide the player with an immersive experience.

if this isn't for you, welcome to mmorpgs where inventory space is one of the things holding us back from hoarding every item in existence, but it makes us think to have simple needs to prioritize items needed and needn't

although this thread is long gone and is still gaining attention such as mine, please just stop trying to diffuse your suggestion, its inevitable that the majority disagrees and any futher diffusion will result in more and more comments just like mine

 

Yeah, I need to learn what's useful and what isn't. When I start playing again anyway!

In skyrim you can carry over 1200 potion ingredients types, and still have enough weight to walk.

In Wynncraft you can carry 24 types, brilliant comparison eh?

All jokes aside you do make a valid point, but I have played Wynn for 5 years, got two heroes to level 100 and played every class. I do have some knowledge of what I am talking about, as do the other 500 or so people that want backpacks, also if you've heard of Gothic 3 (great underrated game), that's one of the only RPGs I know that has an infinite inventory space, and surprisinly it actually works! Also Kingdoms of Amular has infinite space for potion ingredients.

Ok infinite inventory works in Gothic 3 but it doesn't work in Wynncraft.

So I just want to ask you:

We'll have to see about that last part, I've been sharpening my machete for ages now and have had no one to test it out on :P

 

there however, WILL be a limit even though you can carry all those ingredients in skyrim, but skyrim is just 1/8 of the examples im trying to convey here. i just can't see myself carrying all this useless crap, as if it's basically hoarding. im not entitled to this opinion anymore, it's just scarily blatant and conservative you are to just keep going forward with this suggestion, perhaps its just determination or just rumination. i'm done with this thread.

 

Cool, also Skyrim was the only one of those examples I have ever played.

Plus Fortnite and Wynncraft are completely uncompromisable. But maybe their inventorys are, who knows?

Wouldn't this just ruin the whole concept of a bank? Instead of being a limited space to store valuables, it becomes more of a warehouse to throw anything and everything you see in. I get that people wanna save stuff for a rainy day, but part of the game is managing your inventory/bank space. (hence the iron man challenge) Junk items are junk items for a reason. you're not supposed to stockpile and hoard them.

Also, you cant just remove any barriers in the game that may cause inconvenience to the player. It's part of having some difficulty to the game.

I'm actually sort of impressed you managed to find this old thread to be honest, I think you have a very valid point concerning the bank, but I don't really see why NOT HOARDING junk would be good really. Junk is called junk becuase it's rubbish, and easy to collect. Anyway thanks for posting.
