World Special Areas Only Accessiable Through Proffesions [27 Votes, 96.3% Support]

    The title says it all, but to explain it I will continue typing.

    These special areas would be strewn throughout the map would only be accessiable by the four gathering proffesions. They would house special mobs, [(ingredients) optional] and plenty of loot as well as possibly even lore.
    They however will only be accesiable if your gathering level matches the level required to enter.

    To explain it further I'll give an example for each proffesion:

    Mining
    In the world you will find collapsed tunnels or blocked pits, which you will be able to mine, if of course you're high enough level.

    Wood Cutting
    In the world you will find paths blocked by tress or collapsed ones, which you will be able to cut, if of course you're high enough level.

    Farming
    In the world you will find overgrown entrances or pits, which you ill be able to cut through, if of course you're high enough level.

    Fishing
    In the world you will find deep pits from which you can fish items to open doors like keys or you could fish out fish which would help you access special locations, if of course you're high enough level.


    Those of course are only some examples of how these special entrances could look like.
    I belive this will add extr inciative to work on all the proffesions added in 1.18 update and to also add a new interesting feature to the game.

    I guess this is good, but I don't really feel that exploring parts of the world and gathering fits nicely together, and anyway there are already sections of the world that go with gathering, for example the Dark Forest and gathering Dark Wood, Kander Forest and kanderstone... but i get the gist of it

    Essentialy, grinding so you can grind more. With professions being very grindy on its own, I don't think we should restrict people from going to certain area because they didn't want to put in the hours of profession grinding, just so they can get access to xp/certain ingredients forr the profession they do have high level/lootrun for a bit/whatever else you'd put in these.
    I'm all for integration of professions more into quests, like current Mushroom Man where you need to use your scythe to harvest them.
    Restricting areas to profession levels would make more people level professions more, but it would make them dislike it even more.

    tl;dr: no because professions aren't liked, are too grindy, and the whole 'being optional, make others craft' is thrown out of the window. restricting things behind levels isn't a positive incentive for grinding

    I don’t think I was thinking of the exact idea of “limited areas” for people with professions, but I sure hope that the next new area will have a ton of quests with us using our professions!

    But what if they require you to have high skill in any of the gathering proffesions? The low level quests were fine becaouse you didn't have to grind 4 other things, rather than just combat. There shouldn't be high leel quests which expect you to gather materials of the level similiar to the quest level.

    That's why I think my suggestion isn't really that harmful, becaouse it only restricts players from gaining optional conent.

    Haaaaang on a second... I just removed special ingredints from proffeson becaouse I a greed with you, becaouse it would be unfair for people who aren't intersted with proffesions to not get these specail ingridients.

    But then it hit me!

    And then as I was typing it, it hit me again.

    I understand that people would just want to grind ingredients without having any levels n gathering proffesions, so I think your point is still valid.

    Anyway I agree with you.

    I like this idea. Especially if the chests gave higher tiered crafting materials and if the area had a few gathering spots.
