The Eye Of The Storm Rant

At the very first time I did this quest, I thought that this Eye of the Storm quest is good in terms of gameplay, but when I did the same quest as a lvl 100 archer, I have a different feeling: this quest is so damn bad.

I call this post a rant for reasons so don't say "oh a 12-year-old ranting about smth lol" or smth like that xD

Let's start off with the very first phase.

Arwes: It is heartbreaking to see such good people turned to this sort of depravity. Murder, sacrifice, oppression of the downtrodden...
???: Let me go! I'm so young, you can't throw away my life like this. p-please! SOMEONE HELP ME!

First stuff, the ??? guy was actually like 10+ blocks and a maze under you, how do you hear that? And from what Arwes said, a tl:dr version is:

Arwes: hey dude ima priest and these cultists are bad *hear someone shouting* oh shit human go save this guy

Well, wtf, it is like I was interested in your church bisniess, but well, im gonna save him for 1 le though. And the maze and hell bounds after was like uhhhhhhhh

*player kills hellbound in 2 secs legit*

Talos: That's the kind of strength I would expect from you humans! Thank you so very much! If you could cut me loose here...

mhm... so Talos isn't a human? So who are Arwes or the Pastor Nitram guy?

Talos: He's probably rather worried about the both of us. You ought to go tell him we're alright. Even barehanded I can fend these loonies off.

*bangs my head into the keyboard* wtf dude, it looked like his body got taken over, and then he said he can kill those ghosts with his bare hands? come on, no. And I left unrewarded even though I saved your life

And suddenly an eye of blood came out of nowhere, and it was just like Arwes saying "well ty 4 saving Talos but im not satisfied, there is something called eye of blood its evil and nothing else so go bring it bak"

So I was requested to sneak into lexdale by going into a hole/climb thru the walls and suddenly a Ceyquin tells me to look at some "strange" thing which isn't strange, it just looks like a volcanic eruption or some place you can see in molten heights or the corruption place

Ceyquin: go away with the passage below, even though idk if they found that tunnel and there is a puzzle that wastes 5 mins of your life but JUST GO

And a cliche is that "wow shit the mad cultists found the funnel no human dont go in" and anyway I killed the cultists and solved the damn puzzle

Rismor: hi dude we wanna kill naragath but we need to get a paper that could do smth that the purified helmet of legends could do too, but you don't want to go to bank and get that shit bak so go to some tree and kill some mad guy for that paper for me

The Guardian: Intruder! Leave now, and be unharmed. Walk further, and face your end, at my hands!

Well so he is declaring victory to someone who killed Corrupter of worlds and Amadel, who is the leader of a secret Gavel company or smth? wow this guy must be joking. And then, he died in 2 secs if you are with archer or mage or assassin. Press F to pay respect 4 dat mad cultist guy

Rismor: k ty dude ima say smth that do literally nothing but to makes you think ima crazy guy cuz i am, so go get into that cave or pit or what u call it this instant

And here gameplay-wise. Parkour and ranged enemies is really dumb, currently minecraft's mechanic is that if you got hit on the air you will get down faster, so that is an F for people that had low agi

So here is the real "wtf" parts come. a Harker comes out of nowhere again and say smth like "yeh dude ima help u but my legs broke so well ur gonna grind for me". Also a naragath showed up and said like "hahahahahahahahahhhhahahahah ty 4 coming people im gonna take over ur body"

*cough* *cough* kamen rider build *cough* *cough*

Harker: k go grind 5 necklaces for me that actually does nothing because you go to next cave and the naragath there has a lower health

So it is like why I don't kill the boss already? Just as I said, I killed CoW and Amadel or Bob in two levels after, just please no its like a grinding section. And also how tf can you come here with broke up legs?

Naragath: Nooooooooo ima kill u because you r gonna kill me even though no I am still gonna kill you

well k

Harker: shit i have a broke up leg but I still came here and now go kill Naragath for the 1 le and some emeralds and a necklace

Naragath: ur not gonna kill me cuz fuck u i am so big ur tinier than my dick, even though I am an enderman

At this point I am wondering why naragath don't kill Harker when it knows that Harker was a human and Naragath nad that kind of strength

*Naragath got killed in like 30 secs*

Harker: lol I am actually fine staying here with those people who went nuts but ima tp u to that Rismor guy k

So uhm... why you know teleport spells but not teleporting you with me, instead you just leave yourself here and have yourself tortured by those mad cultists

Rismor: lol I think you were dead but whatever ima keep the demon's soul so take 1 le and bye

yeah, that is all

What the heck is happening on this quest, first someone in a maze, and then some weird things and a basement, and a paper fetching session and necklaces fetching session, and finally an eye fetching session, etc etc

Why do this quest rewards 1 le and somewhere around 32 eb when some better and not-so-fetchy quests (aka royal trials) rewards way less than it?

Come on, this quest needs a complete rework, it has been like 4-5 years but still why no reworks

Eye of the Storm is a pretty good quest imo, I like the story and general setting/background of the Kander Forest, the gameplay needs some work though.

Tell us something that hasn't been heard in the past 3 years.

 

The only thing new about this quest is yet another inconsistency; If Garaheth, the only other demon god we’ve seen in the flesh, is so big, why is Naragath just a small enderman? He appears as an enderman before you weaken him with the necklaces as well, so it’s not like using those shrunk him or some shit like that.


Also, I never understood why the fuck “Naragath’s” hand was above the Pit of Despair. It makes absolutely no sense and unless I’m blind, it’s never explained anywhere. All of Naragath’s body parts are intact when you fight him, so how can his hand be extended all the way to the top of the pit? How can the hand still be active when Naragath hasn’t been summonded yet? It’s kind of hard to believe that this quest wasn’t scrapped before gavel’s release when almost nothing about the story makes sense.

 

I tried to touch up the dialogue to make it better awhile ago, but the quest itself is terrible. I want to change it...

 

The last time you made a quest was when you left many glaring questions open in regards to Charon's origins, his motivations, and his place within the Corruption "hierarchy."

 

Clearly Pastor Nitram is a troll.

I didnt notice any difference that made this quest bad from the other ones

REVAMP!

 

This quest is on our list of quests that need a revamp and we're aware it's outdated even if it was perceived as good when we released Gavel.

The issue is there are many quests that are also on the list and we have to balance that with creating new content too... So we don't know how long it will be before we get to revamping it, but just so you know we're aware of it and would like to change it when we get the time to!
