Gui Displaying Levels - Approval 60.0%

Yes you heard it!
GUI's that display the level of every one of our
professions!

Description: Yes, there should be a way to see what level on a certain profession we are without having to go to the compass. (No, not much to explain, there's much to show).

Location suggestion on where they should be



There we go, there's the spots that they should be in.



Pros:
- Saves time from going all the way to the compass and possibly losing a life.
- Looks fancy (In my opinion). :)

Cons:
- May take up some space on screen.
(Suggestion: Use "Normal/Small" scale GUI's in Minecraft's video settings)


TO TOGGLE THIS COMMAND:
use /toggle gui
So it wouldn't take up your screen. (Optional)

Sure thing. Only needa hit the big red button that makes everything possible. Might as well fix world hunger while we're at it.

On a more serious note though, how do you expect this to be possible? Vanilla minecraft doesn't allow custom gui creation all willy nilly as you please, and Wynn isn't planning to make the leap to becoming a modded server just to use some icon bois either. In fact, nothing in this suggestion touches the subject of whether it's possible or not. The closest way to achieve this from what I can think of would be to use the offhand slot, and separately texture and model 130^12, aka 23298085122481000000000000 items for all possible combinations of profession levels. Assuming that a combination of a texture and model would be sized around 50kb in a good case scenario, which'd make the total size 1164904256124050000000000000000 bytes, aka 1164904256124050000000 gigabytes aka 1164904256124050 petabytes and... You see where this is going.

Tbh this could work if you made it so like if you're nearby a profession area (quarries, farms, fishing places etc), it displays the percent of xp you have gained on the side of the screen or the xp bar. It could also be displayed by taking action to profession areas.

 

I think that in the compass when you see your profession level you should also be able to see the current highest level resource and tool for the gathering professions. For example

Lv 4 farming
Tier 1 scythe Wheat
38.8% xp

 

I think they can make that when you click on the profession (on compass) it only changes the xp bar in it so they don't have to make a gui for it since it's hard in Minecraft

 

Ok cool! Do you think that that will be before the next update or not? Like in a patch or something?

 

Reskinning the effect images could work perhaps? in 1.9-1.13 on the top right corner it shows effects you have enabled, then from there you could just use the scoreboard on the side in between each to show the levels.

idk. commands arent my thing; I doubt its possible either way, just an idea.

 

Scoreboard option's nice, and then a command /toggle scoreboard/sb to go with it? i've seen something like that in another server (actually lots of other servers)
