Nostalgia Server

I used to be really into gaming, and I went through a pretty long Wynncraft phase. I started out before the Gavel update, and was pretty into the whole hype of it. I climbed up to the late 80s on my mage class, where at the time that was big time grind time. I felt like my Wynncraft journey was finishing, and I was thankful for the great memories. I was slowly finishing up my gaming days around then as well.

Every once in a while after that, I'd stop by just to see how things were rolling, maybe go on a spree for a few days playing. But I was talking with my friend the other day, about how Wynn is really cool now, and how it's grown into a far more elaborate and complex game, but how there's a sense of nostalgia in the old Wynn that we don't have anymore. Without the texture pack, and even without corkus and gavel.

I don't know how much these threads can influence the game developers, nor am I very aware of how much work it'd take, but I think it'd be a nice monument for the old Wynncraft players to have a separate server, 1.7.10 or 1.8.1 or whenever it was before the gavel update, where everyone starts from the beginning. No texture pack, none of the new quests, everything is just as it was before the Gavel update. In my mind it'd be a different server altogether.

I really like where the new Wynncraft has come, but gaming as a whole has become more of an occasional nostalgia trip for me, and if many other like the prospect of a walk through memory lane, I think it could really catch on as something interesting.

That's all really. Maybe the files required to reconstruct such a 'backup' of sorts don't exist anymore, and I'm out of my mind for thinking it'd be easier than it is. Just wanted to put this idea out there.

 

I think that the problem with this would be that we don'T have it saved (don't take me by word tho), so re-creating it would be quite the work.

 

Or maybe just delete Gavel and Corkus? It wouldn’t have to be a 1:1 recreation of the original. Old School Runescape is nothing like the original Runescape from 2002, it’s been updated a ton since then.

 

i remember grinding to get to the dernel jungle and when i was just about there the gavel update came out and quest fucked my xp bar so i went from lvl 40 to 75 in like a few hours

 

but then it wouldn't have the feel you're aiming for. If you want to do this, then just don't go to gavel & corcus, but Wynn has changed enormously since 1.12.(or whichever version you're talking about)

 

Yes back to the buggy broken Wynn that was extremely hard to level up in

 

It was lit when you had slimeballs as armor

 

Wynn is honestly a fucking joke to level in, there's no merit or wonder in getting level 100. Also, the server is still buggy and broken, if not more so than previous installments.
