The sprint meter has always been something that players have felt as lacking. The reason the sprint meter is so weak is because Salted and other devs don't want running away from a fight to be too easy. However at higher levels, who's going to run from any fight other than the ones that are simply not worth fighting?

    Introducing: Fitness Training
Fitness training comes in 3 categories:
    - Stamina Training
    - Swiftness Training
    - Efficiency Training

Stamina Training increases the duration of the sprint meter. The duration increases by 0.25% for every Strength or defense skill point you have applied. (This goes for all fitness training, not just for stamina). This is only affected by skill points assigned, not by skill points applied by equipment. At maximum, a player can put 100 skill points into strength and 100 skill points into defense, for a total of 50% longer sprint duration.

Swiftness Training increases the speed the player moves when sprinting. The speed is increased by 0.25% for every Agility or Dexterity skill point you have applied. This speed increase is calculated after all other speed buffs, so players with this buff will move extremely fast. Up to 50% faster if the player has 100 skill points applied to agility and 100 skill points applied to dexterity.

Efficiency Training increases the rate at which the player regains the sprint meter. The rate of recovery increases by 0.25% for every Intelligence skill point you have applied. In the possible case that sprint is always refilling and sprinting simply uses it faster than it fills, this will not affect the player while they are sprinting. At maximum, a player can put 100 skill points into intelligence for 25% faster regen and 100 skill points into any other skill point for either 25% faster sprint or 25% longer sprint.
These are all the combinations players can get assuming they max out only 2 elements.
All combinations total a 50% increase in the Sprint meter's power.

    50% longer Duration
    (Strength + Defense) [SD]

    50% Faster Sprint Speed
    (Agility + Dexterity) [AD]

25% Faster Sprint Speed 25% Longer Duration
    (Strength + Agility -- Strength + Dexterity -- Defense + Agility -- Defense + Dexterity) [SA - SD - DA - DD]

25% faster regen, 25% longer duration
(Strength + Intelligence -- Defense + Intelligence) [SI - DI]

25% faster regen, 25% faster speed
(Dexterity + Intelligence -- Agility + Intelligence) [DI - AI]

    Other
If these need some re-balancing, there are plenty of options ranging from changing the gain per point to making it lose potency over time similar to the way elements now (however that will mean rainbow builds have a stronger sprint meter overall).

    What do you think?
Let me know what you think in the comments below! Thanks to @jptheflip for helping look over the idea.

The FitnessGramâ„¢ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

750% sprinting speed (500% movement speed x1.5) and then add speed III if you play archer... Have fun controlling that.

Quick calculations - over 60 blocks per second!
I have the idea of halving the effects (max 25% better sprint meter) in case the system is a bit too strong (Not just sprint speed, but the idea overall). So far there have been no conplaints, so I think we're good for now.
