Hey everyone! I have this idea to increase inventory storage size, but there's more to it than just "backpacks". The reason I have come up with this idea is because the Economy update added a ton of items that take up inventory space when the inventory was already a little small to begin with. I have an idea to improve inventory space, and I think it's a pretty reasonable one. And let me tell you, the number of items makes it IMPOSSIBLE to stay away from a big town for longer than 3 minutes without filling your inventory!

    Is it backpacks?
Not quite! The idea is that there will be 3 "satchels" that hold your items for you. One satchel (Ingredients Satchel) holds crafting ingredients, another satchel (Materials Satchel) holds wood and ore, and the other satchel (Resources Satchel) holds Fish and Crops. When you first get them, they will have 9 inventory slots - a single line of nine spaces, and each satchel can store up to 40 unrefined items (or 25 ingredients in the case of the ingredients one). The satchels also scale with level, gaining +1 unrefined storage space for each level of gathering profession (Ex. The materials satchel gains +1 unrefined material storage for every mining and woodcutting level you have). The exception is the ingredients satchel, which I will get to later. In addition to the satchels, the players themselves will be able to hold up to 20 unrefined items.

What if I misplace my satchels?
You can't! You can move your satchels around - move them in and out of your hotbar, put them in your bank, and take them out of your bank - but you cannot drop them in any way. They will work just like the quest items, where you cannot get rid of them no matter what you do. This will be much better than shrinking the hotbar, and it will be nice to place your satchels wherever you want them to be in your inventory.

    Can I upgrade my satchels?
Yes! Your satchels will automatically upgrade as you level up your gathering professions! Upon reaching level 40 in both of the professions for a satchel, the satchel will gain an additional row of item slots. It won't change the number of unrefined items that the satchel can store, but it will increase the number of unique items that can be stored by the satchel. For example, Birch wood and Oak wood should be fine for 9 slots, eve with the refined versions (3 kinds of wood with unrefined and 2 refined equals 9 - though this sin't accounting for higher tiers of item, which is why I don't think this is that overpowered) But once you get access to a 4th or 5th kind of wood? You are likely going to want to be able to hold a larger number of items. 18 slots should suffice for this. However, the satchels upgrade one more time at level 80 in both of the satchel's professions, for a total of 27 slots. Again, this doesn't affect the number of items it can hold, rather it increases the number of unique kinds of wood/mining or fishing/farming items you can store at a given time. After this last upgrade, there are no more upgrades for the satchel, but you have yourself a pretty nice inventory to use.

    What about ingredient Satchels?
The ingredient satchels also level up, but in a different way. Every 20 levels (between all gathering professions) increases the number of ingredients it can store by 1. With max level 130 for all 4 professions, that's a total of 520 levels, which means a maximum ingredient storage of 51. However, the limit of only 9 slots will severely limit the functionality of this satchel. As such, the ingredients satchel will gain an additional row of inventory space at 200 levels (between all 4 professions) and at 400 levels (also between all 4 professions).

    Other details
My own professions are at levels 3, 9, 7, and 5. If we ignore level 1, that means I have a total of 20 levels. Each level increases the maximum number of unrefined resources you can store by 1. My current maximum is 120 unrefined resources. This means the base number of unrefined resources the player can hold when just starting out is 100. The 2 profession satchels hold 40 unrefined items each, adding up to 80. The players can hold up to 20 in their own inventory as well. In total, this is 100 items. This means a new player could hold the same number of items as one can now. The difference is that the new player with the satchel isn't having to go back to the bank every 2 minutes to empty their inventory.

What if my inventory is full (if) the satchels are released?
You will simply go through the tutorial again and receive the satchels from the King of Ragni (They make you do this with every update that does anything that changes the game). If you don't have space for them, this will force you to make room and accept the items in order to leave. Nobody should end up without their satchels.

    Any thoughts?
Let me know your thoughts on this! If I missed anything, let me know! I know it's possible to create an inventory that opens when you right-click an item - I've seen it done in another server that I play, which uses custom plugins but no mods. If they can do it, I see no reason why Wynn could not.

    lol XD

My primary reasoning is that it wouldn't make much sense to have 3 backpacks on. Satchels would make more sense.
