Game Design Warchiefs Rarity.

I think almost everyone knows that Warchief is not considered a good mythic and maybe even seen as a problem.

Listen to me please.

One of the biggest problem is that many people do more than just the 'Lootruns' for their level and they are level 100 doing them.

When you open a chest and there are no mobs near the chest to set the chest to their level you just get loot for your level... Which means most people are level 100 and they get lvl 96-100 items.

However... There are currently 17 Mythics in that level range so why do you get Warchief that often?

I don't know.

Maybe it is because people often only plan t3 and t4 chests in their lootruns and there is some special rule for t3 and t4 rarities with items that can only be gotten out of t3 and t4 chests.

I have opened many chests and I have gotten 2 mythics but both were armor pieces out of t3 and t4 chests.
This can have something to do with luck or bad luck...

I mean maybe there is like an 75% chance of getting only t3 and t4 chest items out of t3 and t4 chests.

So I did an experiment... I collected many unique 96-100 chestplates. I sorted the t3 and t4 ones out.

What happened was really interesting... I IDed them. 6 non t3 t4 and 4 t3 t4... 2/4 of the t3 and t4 were Bastille... Bastille is the only 96-100 unique chestplate you can only get out of t3 and t4 chests.

I think that items that you can only get out of t3 and t4 have got a higher chance to actually be there in t3 and t4 chests.

So basically to remove the Warchief problem I suggest removing this feature if it exists...

Just removing this feature would be maybe not be the most wise decision.

Back to Warchief.

Warchief is a bad-okay-ish mythic at this time... It could need a buff but that is not what I am talking about right now.

Warchief is just a too common mythic and I suggest making it more rare.

The community is trying to fix Warchiefs price right now too...

While they are removing many Warchiefs maybe it would be great to just make it more rare so it's price is fixed.

However I still think Warchief could have a lot of potential and it could need a buff too or else it will stay a meme... I don't want this to be like this as I said before it has got a lot of potential and could need a little buff to catch up to the other mythics.

I can't really be sure they're weighted more heavily in chests, but at the same time you can ONLY receive them from T3/4 chests, so it would make sense if they were, and all mythic armours are loot-exclusive.

 

Yes. Exactly.

That reason + the fact that people do Lusuco and Dernal Jungle lootruns too and some chests just get set to their level which is mostly 100 makes Warchief the probably most common Mythic.

 

Wait... Are mythic armours only found in loot chests and not dropable from mobs?
