Website & Forums Players Without 25 Messages+ Cannot Use General Suggestions

I don't know about you guys but I am tired of these annoying useless threads about stupid stuff like these.

Solution: Players with less than 25 messages cannot use this channel, see all of these above these messages are almost always from players with less than 10 messages. Most people who post in the general suggestions are level 90+ and have experienced most if not all of the game to its fullest and understand problems in this game. People like these up above do not actually recognize if their problems need solving because they don't have experience with the game, how do you get this experience: playing! Most players who actually use these forums are experienced players who have 25+ messages and understand the game. This should be added so these bad threads appear less.

I personally disagree with this.

- Lets say someone joins the forums simply because they want to suggest something simple, or even give feedback. Why should they have to get a ton of posts to do something like that?
- You know what some people in the community dislike? People trying to get 10 posts. Their reaction will probably be worse for someone getting 25 posts.

Yes, bad posts will be made in the general suggestions section, but that is the case for every single section on the forums. This is a public forum, and everyone should have the right to simply join and suggest something. Besides, not all threads by new players are unpopular. "Nerf the bandit leader" was a legitimate suggestion, same with stuff like "increase player count", and even that casino suggestion. Besides, what's to say that these new members will learn what a "good thread" is after 25 posts anyway? It doesn't take long to reach that amount. Posts that are of lower-quality but not useless are inevitable, and I don't think anything should be done about them.

Back in topic, while I would agree with this suggestion, there is the issue that new people will rush to get to 25 messages. I'd say maybe add it in with the 10 message requirement that is needed to post websites or pictures? Of course, there's nothing to prevent a bad thread from popping up every once in a while, but perhaps this can potentially lower the odds of a "bad" suggestion...

Or you know, if a new player actually read the "How to Suggest" thread that is literally at the top of the page... *Cough cough*

 

I like the points "withthefish" makes. It sounds good on paper for the +25 posts until you realize most people will probably spam useless posts until they can get to that +25
The ratio of new players making stupid posts like "No more permanent bans" to real ones is pretty small. Its not a big enough problem to require +25 posts. And I think it'd be good to get an opinion from someone who isn't wrapped in nostalgia.

 

Alright, I agree with all of @WithTheFish 's reasons. I feel like the 25 posts requirement won't change anything; newbies will just spam 25 posts and nothing will end up changing, except for more "need more posts" threads.

I know this sounds crazy that I want level equality for a minecraft forum. It's like asking people to burn down their own house. But it's worth a try.

Honestly, it's not that bad. It's not hard to ignore the thread, or even better, remind the user or help them develop the thread. The only reason it can be tiring is when you spam "ok noob read the pinned message".

First of all; I agree with the second point, however I disagree with the first point.
To judge a player by their message count is just wrong. A player with 8 Level 101s may have 2 messages. A player that's Level 10 on one account may have 100 messages. Plus, it will just promote spamming posts with useless things, except 25 times except for 10.

I agree with the first part, however these "bad threads" aren't immediately bad. I'll talk about them in my next statement:

I agree. All of these threads are bad. There's nothing to really do about it, However I hate the way the community just throws them away, like they're a banana peel yelling to be disposed. (yes, it's a minecraft forum, but I honestly don't care). Every idea can be evolved into a new one, or a better one, whether you agree or not.

Heck, even look at the casino/gaming center. With some development and changes, it can be reasonable. With No More Permanent Bans, we don't have to be like "well fuck you idiot", we can remind them that it will be hard for that to happen and they can store that knowledge. With Early Horse, we can tell them that it will probably won't work and we can help them develop a new method. With More Spells, we can use that idea and help them morph it into something more reasonable. With Increase Player Count, we can describe why it wouldn't work and give them a sense about how suggestions work.

Of course, it won't always work, but it will work sometimes, which is enough in my book.

Now, I'm doubting many people will believe my points, but the points I say are the points I'm keeping.

That's why I'm voting no.

It’s annoying enough people spamming posts just to reach the limit; I cannot imagine what it would be like if you more than doubled the limit 0_0

 

No more permanent bans was a great series that ended too soon.
If anyone disagrees they are wrong.

This seems like something that would be annoying if you joined to give a suggestion, and you couldn't, but it would stop spammy threads giving small/bad suggestions with minimal efforts.

Maybe if you lower the amount of posts needed a bit I would support this.

 

I disagree. I joined this forum for the sake of making suggestions and even though my first major suggestion (not just possible names for items and stuff) got enough support that I created a second, more updated version that now has 68 of 95 people fully supporting and another 17 of 95 people giving partial support (say "good but needs changes" or only likes part of it). That's a total 85 players out of 95 that wanted the idea implemented in some form.

And if you were talking about the number of threads made by such a player, I have only started 20 threads. The thread I mentioned was my 14th. So a completely okay thread would have become ineligible.
