I know that the "no refund" policy was enstated because of the mods being scammed, but I think it should come back, and only be refundable with concrete evidence.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

If the Q button causes someone to lose an item, they should be able to make a claim with the "Record That" feature that windows 10 provides, or have recorded footage that shows clearly what happened.

If someone tosses their item into a hopper by accident, this could also be recorded and very easily made a claim for, provided that the video showed what item they have.

The issue I see with this currently is how the items would be given back consistently, most people don't regularly check the IDs of their weapons, they press Q by accident.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    A way around it:

1.) Having players record their ENTIRE gameplay sessions, and if something went wrong, send a clip that includes a shot of their Item's IDs, up until the point where said item was lost. This would, I believe, encourage people to record Wynn gameplay, and maybe even post the videos on YouTube since they're recording anyways.

2.) Have a recorded video of them tossing said item, and even if they do not have footage of the Item's name / ID, take their history into account, their level, credibility, and if it is deemed as credible, give this person back their item (un ID'd) at 1/4 the Market Value (or more).

    ------------------------------------------------------------

Comment any suggestions you may have, I really wish we would have a return policy for valuable items, but in a way that doesn't scam the people who work so hard to make this game great

This would be ok, however you’re forgetting videos and photos can easily be edited. With good editing skills, you can record yourself holding an item, then use different footage of yourself throwing an identical looking but cheaper item into a hopper. If they use a weapon skin, that would easily allow them to do that. It would be hard to tell between edited and unedited footage

I agree with this. Although would the ID's of the item have to be shown? I can imagine someone getting a mythic, rerolling it like 3 times, and overall getting very shit stats, and the intentionally using this to get a new mythic, with rerolls.

Evidence can be faked, no matter how foolproof you think it'd be. In addition to this, there simply isn't a system to make items pop into existence out of nowhere, especially with weapons and armor which have specific identifications on them.

SOMEONE has the power to do this, otherwise game updates wouldn't be a thing.

And also, I thought of the same thing with rerolled, which is why I thought they could buy one back at a fraction of the price, since they had it originally. Also, yes I know that the evidence can be faked if you're good enough, but I think the amount of people honestly losing items > scammers.

What he means is that mods can't just put specific items with IDs that already exist in the game.

Uh yeah item updates dont happen like that. Maybe Jp himself can set ids of an item in game to specific values but even on GM server we cant do that so i doubt that its easily possible and giving mods the ability to spawn in any item is definitely not the smartest idea (sorry mod ppl ;-; )

    Ok, no.
    Here's why :

It is clear that it would be moderators' job to do this, because :
    Admins : too busy
CT : Has other stuff to do
    Normal players : Wait what?
    So :
Let's imagine there are absolutely NO ONE who tries to uses that to scam.
Let's imagine that EVERYONE records their gameplay
Let's imagine that EVERYONE makes a proper report with that, giving us as much proof as we need.

Do you really think us moderators have enough time to check through that? There are already a nice amount of people complaining about loosing their items, even when it is common knowledge that we have a strict no refund policy. Adding a refund policy would make the request up by a lot. Maybe of players who have records of losing an item, but BEFORE this new rule, etc etc etc...

This is why I don't think its a good idea at all.

Also, reading the above posts, you can find a lot of ways people would try to get around this. Adding on to this that I totally dislike the idea of refunding un-id'd, even if the player has to pay... WAIT HE HAS TO PAY A 1/4 OF THE ITEM'S WORTH? So not only would we have to look through potentially hours of gampeplay to make sure it wasn't faked, but we would also have to know the worth of every item and make people pay for it?

That is a definitive no for me. I already lost items, friends of mine already lost items too, I know this is annoying, but you have to get over it, eventually you will get so much stuff that the item(s) you lost won't even matter anymore...

I like how there's so many people here who say "no it can't work" and try to bring someone else's idea down instead of trying to contribute an idea to improve it. "Videos can be faked" but no one who's a professional will have the will to copy an item in Minecraft. Their skill would be used elsewhere. And where these mediocre cheaters would make mistakes, someone with a good eye and time would look at the video closely and decide "yes" or "no", or even multiple people.

Seriously y'all need to be constructive with your criticism instead of just being "no no no"

Well, we also need to make you realize that implementing this will kill the game.
Even if the suggestion had good intentions, if it can't deliver and causes harm it isn't worth it.
