    Hello!

I'm DurpDur, I'm returning to wynncraft after a ridiculously long time. I have a bunch of question that I hope I can get some answers to! I'm currently hoping to do some grinding as a level 74 Warrior.

1.) Powder: It looks like the Sharpness, Fire Aspect, and Knockback powders are gone, and replaced with elemental powder. I have a general idea that there are 5 elemental forms of powder rather than 3 now.

Q: How do I apply the powder?
Q: Is there a maximum amount of powder for a piece of gear?
Q: What will it do to the gear?
Q: Can I take it off a piece of gear to switch it out for other powder?
Q: Are powder still obtainable from mobs? Do I need to go to a powder merchant?
    ______________________________________________________________

2.) Elemental Damage: I have no clue how this works.

Q: Are mobs now separated by types, dealing the respective damage?
Q: The skill point book looks like it's elemental too, what does it do? (Before it was very specific about Strength: Damage, Dexterity: Crit Chance, etc.)
    ______________________________________________________________

3.) Gear: All my gear is unidentified.

Q: Should I just identify every piece of gear I get?
Q: Does the gear merchant still offer large amount of emeralds for selling him high-level(lvl 60-70 ish) gear?
    ______________________________________________________________

4.) Economy: I was tossing out some questions at Deltas, a group of very nice lvl 100s were there. Apparently Liquid Emerald is not as valuable?

Q: Did the emerald economy inflate?

welcome back! There is a thread for returning players somewhere. Lemme find it!

Damage is not very simple in wynn. Elemental damage is broken down into each of the elements: Earth, Thunder, Water, Fire, Air.
The corresponding stats are still the same as you listed above. They are Strength:Earth, Thunder:Dexterity, Water:Intelligence, Fire:Defense, Air:Dodge in case you forgot any. For a very detailed look at how damage is calculated refer to this page: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/how-damage-is-calculated.176082/

    Q1: Yes
Q2: No. The item buyer gives almost no emeralds for the items you sell. The trade market is better for selling equipment. Only the best equipment is worth selling though. Anything else you should IB (item buyer) for the little boost it will give you.

    Thank you so much!

Another question, do health regen still exist in the game? I seem to be slowly dying to mobs. How do I heal?

And do mobs still drop health potions?

Powders come later and are not 100% necessary. You can apply powders on your equipment (armor and weapons) at Powder Masters. They can be found in almost any town with a bank. There are books near them that give instructions on how to use the merchants and what the powders do for your armor and weapons, but in general: Adding powders to armor adds a set amount of the corresponding element's defense to it. Example: fire powder adds fire defense. However, it also reduces the element of it's weakness. Example: fire is weak to air, so -air is applied to the armor as well. On weapons, however, there are no *negative effects*. Powders convert a % of the weapon's neutral damage (if it has any, since some don't) to the corresponding element AND add a specific amount of damage to the weapon too. No direct negatives. Just make sure you know what you're doing before applying TIV or higher powders. Powders scale in tier btw. They go from Tier I through VI, I being the weakest and VI being the strongest. When applying 2 same elemental powders of tier IV or higher you'll also add a powder special to the weapon, similar to a skill in other games that you can activate in combat. They are all different based on element. You charge these up by melee attacking enemies until it gets to 100%. I'll stop here.

Interesting question! Yes mobs drop HP pots and Yes hp regen exists in game. However, you must wait 5 seconds before regen begins to heal you. Also, armor can drain your hp if it has -regen or -life steal, as these will directly lower your hp, though neither can kill you, they will bring you down to 1 hp then stop. HP regen is affected by regen %. Example: I have 50 hp regen (often reffered to as raw hp regen) and 25% hp regen (% regen). That means my actual hp regen is 50+(|50|*.25). double negative values don't cancel out, they stack. Layman's terms: ( - ) plus ( - ) doesn't equal ( + ). They fixed that.

    Hey!
Always great to see older players returning. Though you do have a level 74, I would advise you start a new class and play through at least the earlygame. It is wildly different and will really help you learn the new mechanics. Worry not, there is nothing like the old herb cave grind that I'm sure you are familiar with, leveling is much faster.
If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me, on the forums(Pokextreme), the discord(Pokextreme#7026), or ingame(pokextreme).
I hope you enjoy all the new features and content that have been added since you departed!

Literally read every single patch and major update thread. To say a few:
Guilds now work and have banners
Crap ton of new content: Corkus, Gavel, the Hive, Legendary Island
Revamps of old content: Discoveries (last added), most of Wynn, Pirate Island, the Sea skipper, most low leveled quests, ???

Oh yeah, if something feels off with the forums. On September 7th 2015, there was a huge glitch that wiped off every single thread off the forums, including any changelogs made before that, keep that in mind. Fortunately profile posts were unaffected by the "wipe".

I know @NicBOMB already linked this thread. But keep in mind that it only documents the major updates that have been released from December 2015 to the most recent one, nothing below that.

It seems everyone else has everything covered; for now, I recommend starting a new class; a lot has changed and the new quests for the earlier levels (Tunnel Trouble, Elemental Exercise, Poisoning the Pest) are all pretty good at teaching you some of the new gameplay features.

If you don't start a new class, and want to get to level 100/101 ASAP, I recommend finding the forgery in Gavel and finding a server where DXP and dungeon bombs (a new bomb that gives free access to dungeons) are being thrown. People usually run the corrupted sand-swept tomb dungeon there to grind as it gives a ludicrous amount of XP.

Also, the economy is in a wierd spot right now; the average legendary costs anywhere from 1 LE to like 10 LE depending on IDs, while the next tier up usually costs like 1-10 STACKS of LE, and occasionally more. I wouldn't really worry about it until level 100 though

I HIGHLY recommend you starting over with a new class! The game is entirely different now! You don't have to delete your old class, you can continue playing on it later on, but right now you'll be completely lost with weird items and mechanics you don't understand. The early game makes you learn these things as you play.

    TL;DR: Start a new class

    Thank you all so much!

I would start a new class, but all my classes are level 35+ already (I think the lowest one was mage with lvl 37)

Do we still have sieges on certain cities? I remember that was super fun.

Unfortunately Swarms were removed a couple years ago due to lag, there have been attempts at more modern versions, but those seem to have been scrapped for the same reason.

Aw man, I really enjoyed them. It was hilarious being swarmed over and over again and super fun.

Oh well, I'm sure swarms were a really heavy burden on the Wynncraft servers, thx for the info!

You could simply reset a class. Also, there are no longer sieges :(. However, we got TWO new provinces and a lot of cool features. Recommend starting fresh for sure (its hella confusing if you don’t)

Well, therein lies another feature; on the class select screen you can delete a class, and you start out with five class slots instead of one of each.
