This literally triggers me for some reason. Why is this a rule now? It's just another thing for people to get banned in game for no reason. What if they don't see this on discord/forums? How would they know not to spoil it?

Kinda reminds me of how I got banned for "Dungeon glitch abuse" when I ran dungeons with groups and then I get falsely accused of glitching the XP (or attempting to glitch the XP).

How does this remind me of getting banned for something unreasonable?
Because how the fuck would anyone think that getting banned for "Dungeon glitch abuse" was possible, let alone getting banned for "Spoiling Avengers: Infinity War". Smh.

    @Thunder says:
I would agree with the new spoiler rule if:
    1. A clear warning is issued first before any ban is considered.
    2. Temp ban doesn't count as a "true" ban. If the person later got caught and banned for hacking/etc. after being unbanned, that second ban would act as the player's first ban instead of the second.

Ok, there's a lot of problems with the main post that I'll come back to later.
While his comment isn't right, it doesn't mean he cannot try to change the rules to make them have sense (in his opinion at least.)
He was permanently banned for glitching in a Dungeon Glitch abuse.
What I think that you don't understand is that for some people, it totally ruins the experience. Imagine you are looking for something super hidden, you don't want other people to reveal to you where it is because you want to have that rewarding feeling of finding it by yourself, and then, someone says "its over there". Don't you find it unfair that this person can ruin your fun and not get punished?

Ok, now back to the main post and all its problems.
I explained above why it is a thing with the story of "something super hidden"
We don't ban people in game for no reason, your ban was discussed and was decided to be kept permanent.
"Oh I can't hack on your server? Sorry I didn't see the forums" would be a reasonable answer by all the hackers then.
Like I said above, your ban was discussed, and the moderation team chose to kept you banned.
Getting banned for abusing a glitch seems fair to me..?
Go back to the "something super hidden" story.

Removed the last part of the comment to avoid people posting useless content.

From my point of view, the purpose of this post is just to release your anger of being banned for abusing a glitch.
and i thought discuss the movie in pm instead of in public to spoil the movie is a common knowledge

Please do not set the forum on fire.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
And for all the players who got triggered by this rule:
Unless you're blind and you clearly see that you may discuss about it freely from 7th May.

This is just a temporary solution to the problem.
I would rather put more effort on developing the game instead of wasting time and space to make an offcial rule to stop people from spoiling big movies that has only been released for a few days.

No need to be overreacted about this. Following it isn't so hard, right?

Let me clarify. Hacking is a obviously inexcusable and is considered to be the most well known cause for bans (I'm sure) across all gaming. Using this as an example is not very strong. Comparing these two types of bans is impossible because "Hacking" is straightforward and "Spoiling a movie IN-GAME even though you didn't know it was a bannable offense due to our lack of simple communication skills" is not-as-straightforward. My point was that if Admins are going to make this a bannable offense IN-GAME they should make it known to the players IN-GAME and not through a website. Not everyone checks the online forums for Minecraft servers, and quite frankly, if the Admins cared for their playerbase they would incorporate that into the rules IN-GAME. Honestly, it's just another trigger for the staff to pull on their community after they get bored illogically banning players for "dungeon glitch abuse".

oh hey I got banned for that

The problem I have with these rules is that the mod team give the impression they're focusing their attention around one particular popular movie each time and not the other films that come out around the same period.

But then the other problem they'd face would be that there'd be too much to handle, since so many movies exist and come out every week. I think the solution would be to create a #spoilers room on the Discord so that people can have these sort of discussions without risking a ban.

Also by creating this type of announcement, you can be sure that more people will attempt to troll and annoy the mods by posting fake spoilers or be tempted to spoil it just to see what happens, then complain, say they were banned unfairly and probably create drama.

    1. I was never told that my "ban was discussed" until just now. Very interesting after how Moe ignored my reasoning to the very end.

    2. It wasn't abusing any glitch let alone glitching in the first place. I was running dungeons when they were popular and spent a large amount of my time of the day doing that. If anything I got banned for "Abusing Dungeon Runs". Moe (the Mod who banned me) gave many senseless justifications for banning me and ultimately put words in my mouth. All the evidence I gave he would switch it around on me in the chat logs that I sent. I still don't know why he was even qualified to ban me

IMHO Melted's point is valid and I really hope the admins at least take it into consideration. We can't deny that not every player uses the forums/discord frequently enough (or even at all) to note the latest updates in rules in-game. Hacking the game aside, not all these rules would be common sense for every Wynn player, such as spoiling a movie. If such rules were to be enforced in-game, it should be periodically broadcasted on the server to warn people against it, instead of being flashed one-off on the discord channel.

1/ Can you answer to my whole comment instead of choosing one part? That way I can see what you have to say.
    yup
It is though, and while I posted this, it could've very well have been abusing glitches for example... right?
You are trying to create a misconception. A rule shouldn't be denied because "another one is most obvious". In real life, you are supposed to know the law, the entire thing, so that you cannot say "I didn't know". Rules in games are the same. Spoiling a movie IS and should be a bannable offense, because you are ruining the fun for someone, in wich case do you think it is a good idea? Do you have any movie you like? Were you ever spoiled in any platforms? Do you know how bad that feels? Well Wynncraft does its best to avoid people having their favourite movie ruined by someone. If you want to discuss the movie with someone, why not PM him? If you want to discuss the movie with multiple people at once, why not make a party?
The only reason I can think of to talk about the movie in game by spoiling it is just to ruin people's fun...
Well then all of our rules would have to be in game, and I don't know if you read them, but they are really big, where would you place them? Why would this rule have to be in game and the other one on the forums?
But they should, there are rules there, rules are made to be respected, not to be ignored or removed because "some people don't go on the forums to read them"
If the admins cared for their playerbase and the revenue they get, they would've already added more feature, more ranks and basically copied hypixel, Wynncraft takes minecraft to another step with its quality.
Ok, for real now, explain me how your ban was illogical? You glitched and knew it was bannable, you were already given second chances before, yet got a third chance, you should be happy, not complaining.
What I meant with your ban was discussed is that it took a lot of discussions before it was denied. Moe didn't straight up denied your appeal and that's it, he discussed it and in the end, all the proof went against you, and it was logical that you had to stay banned.
So that you know, I read your whole appeal too, and I do not see why you think that what moe did is wrong.

Also, I edited out the part where you straight up insult him.
The thing is, its pretty obvious that spoiling is a bad thing, would you seriously go see your friend and spoil them a movie?

Spoiling Infinity War has pretty much become a meme at this point so I don't think the rule is unreasonable. I do think that if a new rule is implemented or changed then it should be announced on all of the platforms that it applies to. Some players don't even use the forums or Discord so an occasional broadcast with info on recent updates/changes would be helpful in my opinion. Then no one would have that excuse of "not knowing the rule" because it's literally everywhere :p

Although I agree that melteds post is mostly illogical and really has no reason to exist, I don’t really feel that the infinity war rule belongs here. This is because 1. They don’t do it with other movies 2. Infinity War isn’t directly related to Wynn so I don’t really see why Wynn should look to avoid spoilers of it and 3. If people actually care about spoilers they will figure out how to avoid it themselves. That’s just my opinion though.

I mean, i just want to communicate on a discord server talking about speculations about the movie whatsoever, and then some randy decides to ruin the experience for us and spoil something,

It just feels different when you already know whats gonna happen in a move, that feeling of "Shock" is gone,

What entertained me most of the times is that sudden surprise/plot, similar to age of ultron where vision suddenly appeared i was just fan nerding

No even going to lie, this is a very stupid rule and I can’t help but question who in the world thought this rule would make any sense to have. I could write up an entire wall of text explaining the reasoning as to why this rule is completely illogical, or I could just put it like this: If you are trying to avoid Infinity War spoilers, at this point the only way to do so is probably going to be dumping all of your technology into a river and staying completely clear of the internet until you watch the movie yourself.

The rule existed within the CT last year prior to The Last Jedi, where someone can be kicked if they spoiled the movie. This rule continued throughout the past few months for Black Panther. The rule was only put in place because spoiling major films has been a problem for years. Whether you like it or not, Infinity War is a movie YEARS in the making, and some people have been waiting years for this day. Even if the movie is out of your interest zone, there is still a group of people interested in watching the biggest film of the year.

I assume everyone reads books here. Imagine if you're reading the latest novel in a series that you've waited for a long time for its release, and some asshat smashes through your window and spoils a major part/outcome of the book, how would you feel?

For those who argue "This rule isn't put in place for all movies", it's simply because Infinity War is a BIG film. Almost every movie created by Marvel Studios for the past few years has hinted and/or led up to Infinity War. The hype buildup is on an unprecedented scale. And it is in this film that people actually care about the plot. It's not comparable to your average romance movie.

In fact, I know deep down everyone here knows spoiling is a bad thing and agrees that the rule does indeed make some sense, but being your typical Internet warrior, I agree we all enjoy arguing against what people do. But at the end of the day, rules are rules even if they seem idiotic, just like laws passed by your country's government: some laws are dumb but the law is the law, and no one is above it. Just don't attempt to push the limits and you won't get into trouble.
