Allowing Players To Tame A Wolf

I was thinking it would be pretty cool for players to have a wolf like they can have horses. Obtain them through a quest obviously, maybe in the 50's. They would work how they would normally in Minecraft, and maybe we could upgrade their health as the player levels up.

get pets it the shop bucko, either from the "pets" in the main area,
from your monthly free crate,
or from just buying a damn crate.

this is a bad idea bro, it just is, sorry to be harsh but it is, I know it would be nice to have a fuzzy little cute wolf by you're side, but it may cause lag.

maybe with some more work on this idea it could work, but for now, I suggest you prepare yourself for the bombing hate this will get.

I'm not fully against it, But it needs a lot of work.

 

Yeesh that reply was pretty mean for a pretty non offensive non housing thread. He's most likely talking about something like a blue name tag mob but with the qualities of a horse, like how you can spawn it in and it follows you around. I don't see how this would be a problem for lag? People always reply to suggestions with "This will cause lag!!!", everything in Wynncraft causes lag. I don't understand why

Sure this has probably been suggested before but he went into enough detail with making it something you get through a quest, describing how you could upgrade it, and how they would work like in vanilla. There's no point hating on harmless suggestion threads without giving your reasons and/or suggestions to improve.

Could you breed them? Could you feed them all that useless pigman meat in your inventory? [Or use it on your rodoroc loot runs you scum [jk] ], What are the other things it can do besides vanilla, what woul the quest be like, etc?

I was trying to get across the fact that people hate on something a lot that doesn't really matter all that much or is just really dumb...

but yeah, I'm not even sure wolfs are pets, I cant buy crates, I'm don't want to buy crates, and i'm just sticking with the free monthly crate. (looking at it now, what I said was pretty hypocritical)
but yeah, sorry bout that, I do like wolfs and my suggestion at the end should help with the idea I guess...

instead of just having the dog doing one thing, it can do other things! (you can only use one thing at a time and you can change it at anytime btw)

Red: Who couldn't love a face like that? Gives extra heath.
Orange: FIGHTING DOG IS BEST DOG! Fights along side you, levels with your heath and attack, if heath goes below 0, it'll hide in the collar until its fully healed. (you can heal it with a potion in battle too)
Yellow: MEDIC, I NEED HEEEEELLP! Heals you every now again.
Green: Grass... the one thing keeping dogs for the dirt... finds emeralds every now and then, (max is 32E)

I have more, but I wanna see if anyone else has any ideas for it (there are 16 colors over all)

Nowhere have they said that the wolves will fight for you.

 

I think they'll only attack a mob if you attack the mob.

 

I think so, but making gameplay less interactive isn't the best idea.

This dog doesn't follow you for more than 400 blocks at best because then you get tp'd though, also he may take aggro onto someone else or just keep fighting non-stop and never come back to see you.

Ok, here is why "AFK farming" isn't a valable answer :
AFK farming is still possible in wynncraft, it is just FORBIDDEN. Yes, people may try to afk farm with their dog if it gets added but keep in mind they will just get banned, just like if they used any other technique to afk farm.

 

What I mean by “AFK Farming” is that we shouldn’t add things that make it easier, or encourage it.

 

Afk farming is already easy, and a wolf probably wouldnt be even close to be as efficient as the other methods. Trust me when I say that Afk farming isnt the problem of this suggestion.
