The sea skipper is a very useful and cheap way of travelling. But after you read all the context the captain says it gets a little boring just waiting to be teleported. So I had this idea to add events that have a rather low chance of happening.

30-40% Pirate attack:The sea skipper captain says: "Wait a minute,I see another boat." "Oh no! Pirates!" "Ready your weapons we are going to fight them!".Then you have to kill the pirate captain to win the battle. The pirate lvl depends on your lvl (about 3 lvls higher than you for the crew and 6 or more for captain). After you beat the pirates you get a portion of their treassure (5 EB max).If you die the sea skipper captain will say: "Hey! are you ok?" "Sorry to tell you this but while you were asleep pirates took X emeralds from you"(X being the amount of emeralds with max of 20% and you also lose 2 soul points)"You know what kid? here, get some money" "You need it more than me".But you still get to your destination.

20-29% Rock avoiding:The captain says: "Wait a minute,I see a lot of rocks in front of us!" "Quick! Take the wheel!".Then you play a minigame kinda like the quest "fantastic voyage" where you get a boat and sail between rocks. If you manage to win the captain says "Nice sailing skills! take this for your troubles." and you are awarded with a small ammount of emeralds (3 EB max).If you hit a rock you don't lose anything.A message will appear in chat saying: "you hit a rock try again!".

10-19% Whirpool:The captain says: "Wait a minute, there's a whirpool ahead!" "Quick take the wheel!".Like in rock avoiding you have to play a minigame but this time the captain tell you to either turn left or right. The wheel would have 2 buttons for you to press one on the left and one on the right. When they captain says "Left!" you click the left button and same for right. If you do it correctly you'll get out of the whirpool and you'll be awarded with a medium amount of emeralds (12 EB max).If you fail you have to try again.

5-9% Sea Tribe attack:The captain says: "... The water is bubbling".Then a ship appears with a crew of squids and a dialoge begins: -Squid captain "Surrender your worthless ship humans and you shall not be harmed" -SSC "No way! this ship is worth more than your loot" -Squid captain "In that case... ATTACK!".Then you have to kill all enemies to win.If you win you get alot of emeralds (1 and a half LE max) and the sea skipper captain gives you your ticket money back as a thanks. If you lose, you lose 50% of your emeralds and 2 soul points. As that isn't enough you are teleported in a random spot in the sea and you have to swim to get to an island.

I hope you liked the idea ,tell me if you see any problems that could happen if this was added I appreciate all feedback (also if I make any small mistakes pls forgive me I was a little drowsy writing all this :P ).

Okay, so for the rock avoiding and whirlpool events, that really would not make much sense. I mean, the Seaskipper Captain is a professional captain, why would he make you steer? And the sea tribe attack. What? You end up in a random spot in the sea if you lose? That might be hard to code, and defeats the whole purpose of riding on the Seaskipper. (Unless you get lucky enough to land near where you were sailing to.) And for both attack ones, what if you have lots of emeralds on you? That would suck. Finally, this can also be abused. If someone has a good enough build to defeat some enemies, they could just spam the Seaskipper and make a profit off of it.

    Fix the probabilities
Maxing the range of all your suggested probabilities makes a 99% chance of events.
Instead assign something like “20% chance of event” and then split the probabilities of the events for when an event happens triggers

    this would be annoying

and the point of the seaskipper is transportation.

you already get some different events anyways

    different events?

You mean the random text that no one reads?
Or the random items he gives you such as Zight seeds which you will put in your echest and forget about?

I think the probabilities should be lower, but other than that I like the idea. Might get kinda annoying, especially the whirlpool and rocks ones, plus those do not make too much sense. Either way I think the seaskipper could use some more interactive events, but idk if these are perfect ideas.

So, earlier I said in my comment that these events could be abused. Let’s do some math. So, let’s assume someone takes 100 rides on the Seaskipper. The whole ride should be about 30 seconds, so 100 rides would be about 50 minutes. Let’s add 10 more minutes for the time in between or in case there is lag that makes the rides longer. So an hour. Now let’s do the emerald math. I found the average for each range of percentages for the different events. So if we are basing this on 100 rides, the percentages could now be the average amount of times the event happens. Now, we need to find the average emerald reward of each event, so I have divided each max emerald reward by 2, assuming that the minimum emeralds you can get are 0. I then multiplied that value by however many times the event would happen on average. Below is the averages of the times of the event happening, the emerald reward per ride, and the total emerald reward for that event.

    Pirate Attack- 35 Times/2.5EB/1LE23EB32E
    Rock Avoiding- 25 Times/1.5EB/37EB32E
    Whirlpool- 15 Times/6EB/1LE26EB
    Sea Tribe Attack- 7 Times/48EB/5LE16EB

So, adding these values up, the total would be-

    All Events- 82 Times/58EB/8LE39EB

So in an hour, you would get 8LE39EB.

However, to get tickets, you need to spend emeralds. The cheapest ride back and forth is from Rooster Island to Half Moon Island, requiring 4 and 8 emeralds respectively. You would have to buy the tickets beforehand at a major port, as you cannot buy tickets for small islands at other small islands. You would need 50 of each. The cost of the tickets in total is 600 emeralds, or 9 emerald blocks and 24 emeralds. Subtracting this from our original amount, we get a total profit per hour on AVERAGE of-

    8LE29EB40E

This is CRAZY, and way better than Seavale Reef. (About 8 times better.) If you play 6 hours a day, you will get about 51 liquid emeralds per day. This means you can afford a good mythic within 10 days. Just...no. That will DESTROY the economy. To fix this, one way might be to make the events rarer. Perhaps all the events together could have a 5% chance of happening, that way you won’t get an event almost every time. Also, for the other problems I explained, I think you should replace the whirlpool and rock avoiding events, since it makes no sense for the Captain to give you the wheel. Also, the attack events should be changed so they take the percentage of emeralds away from you, but they shouldn’t go above a certain amount, like 32EB. The Sea Tribe attack should also not teleport you to a random spot in the sea. As I said, it would be hard to code probably, and imagine this- you are trying to ride from Nemract to Llevigar, and you lose the battle and land really far away. You then would have to swim. Just remove this, please. You even said “as if that isn’t enough.” Exactly. Losing emeralds and soul points on a loss is enough.

yeah but he could just change the emerald values

The real problem is that this is a fundamentally flawed suggestion in the first place. Seaskipper is fast travel through the ocean. This suggestion takes away the "fast" part.
