This Is Just A Game, My Opinion

Very deep stuff in a post about a children's block game RPG. Damn. Tbf, I cannot say what has been already said in this post that I know of but it just saddens me that in there are a select group of people in the Wynncraft community are plain toxic, and probably won't change.

 

I'm referring to ALL staff, whatever their 'ranks' are. Half of them do not communicate at all, you just see a certain few from any particular team which people will pinpoint issues onto them as breaking things, not communicating and such and yes, I know how things work, certain people usually are given jobs to communicate or are better at it, but I've spoken to a lot of players who feel only a few staff members care and the rest do not.

There is tweaking it and then there is making it shit. I am older than you and have been playing games before you were born, that does not mean I am more clued up but I mythic raid in games like World of Warcraft and can tell the difference between a mechanic change and a straight up nerf which is why classes are not used because they are pointless and this is the case with the mage. I suggested changing it to 20/5/5 or 15/10/5 to make it a bit better and got told its fine as it is. Why should we communicate feedback when you just reply like that? (not on about you specifically) and I am not the only one to say this.

I spoke to a lot of the better mages in-game yesterday, all agree and feel they cannot even voice their concerns as they just get ignored when trying to explain things so do not bother and as such, you have a lack of feedback because they do NOT trust in the item team or whoever changed the mechanics.

I personally am useless at explaining things because I cannot express my ideas properly so it will not make sense so I cannot explain how TPS dropping will cause issues healing, the heal in scenarios like LI does not top up 'enough' and save you against a one shot when for example, a potion is on cooldown, it made the class unique having a heal and I agree it was incredibly powerful before and needed a nerf, but not this drastic or the fact you are forced into playing certain builds more or less now which even Silver said, its water orientated but what can you do?

You cannot just do changes that YOU think is right, its an effort between the community and the item team, if proper communication was setup on feedback then you would probably be given feedback that is not toxic from players who have a clue. Juggling through all the shitposts and the actual feedback is somewhat a pain yes, but people do give good feedback and others like me just do not know how to word things and get looked down at because we cannot express our feedback to you properly but you just make a post like above rather than trying to help players like me for example find a common ground where it makes sense with what I am trying to say.

I feel like this drama should have been completely avoided. And it's not the entire guild to blame for this nonsense (unless the entire guild is toxic), it's the higher-ups and the people who represent the guild. After seeing certain situations and people, I've realized so much more that guild tags do not define the player. There are some amazing people from guilds with horrible reputations and some horrible people from guilds with amazing reputations. Instead of pinning the tag on to the person and just deciding that they're a bad person, you should actually get to know them- you might be surprised.

 

That is not true. If they provided a valid feedback they would not get ignored. If they don't want to say anything, then that's their decisions, but don't say we ignore you when you straight up can't be arsed.

 

You have several people replying feedback about mage changes, Selvut ignored Love reply for a start which she would be better at explaining it that me with the TPS and this is the sort of thing I am referring to about getting ignored so you cannot say that shit.

He replied to everyone else who posted when she did, others could have replied to it but its still ignored, which I keep trying to say, players like that do not get a reply with valid feedback and you wonder why they do not bother?

As I said, I have nothing against you but people cannot express themselves properly and arguments like this happen as it comes across the wrong way.

Whilst she does not go into detail the post is here, the top part as shes trying to say makes it hard to heal properly with the current heal mechanics on certain stuff like LI in some cases, and people who are far better than me as a Mage (someone who could actually use warp properly before the changes for example) even struggle with it.

I think it comes across as angrier then I meant but I've spoken to people who tell me the mod team does not care and I do defend the few that I see replying, giving help and trying to fix things on the forums, in-game and discord. I get staff are busy with things, its an unpaid position and such but just passing on what people have said and my own view on it. Kudos to the ones I see helping a lot.

 

I just wanna say here that if we don't immediately reply, that probably means we're helping somebody else out or doing something else important, or we just missed your message. For me personally, if you don't get a response from me after a few minutes feel free to message me again.

 

You have always helped when I had an issue and so no worries there but yeah, I'm not in the discord now so cannot check but the part about DM a moderator you should probably add about giving time to respond as I know some do spam you.

 

I’d like to see more opportunities for community to give feedback in general. Although may not exactly be applicable to wynncraft, servers such as hypixdl have ingame polls to gauge feedback for certain games, and they use questionnaires and the hype system to figure out what people are most excited for, in prototype games at least. While yes, hypixel is a very different type of server, I feel that ingame surveys that target all players could be beneficial, if not only for the purpose of making them feel acknowledged.

To sort of add to my original message. I've noticed that the guild portion of the community seems to be a large focus of this thread, which isn't a bad thing per se, you still point out the rest of the community in the thread as well. I say this because I want to show attention to the Trade Market section of the community, which I think has an equal amount of problems. The problems are fundamentally similarly to the guild problems you've listed. To which it boils to certain people being rude and toxic towards each other, sometimes over miniscule things.
Of course there's also the scamming but I think we know of that already.
I've personally never been deeply invested into the trade market, save for various trades I've done because I wanted to buy an item or something. But when I have to be extremely cautious about who buy from/sell to I think there could be a problem.

 

So now you play the Blame Game by instantly assuming I'm part of the problem. That sounds extremely childish coming from you, a moderator, and yet you wonder why I have given up. You know what they say about assuming things.

 

Is that what causes it in Americans? In New Zealand, a core part of our education is working together in groups, with people you don't know very well, and in the last two years of school, almost half your assessments have to be done in groups. For example, in PE, an entire unit is dedicated to working in groups to solve problems, and in other units, the teachers expect the best to not only try hard to stand out, but help and encourage the ones without as much skill.
Maybe that's why New Zealand is considered one of the most friendly countries, and America is in the shitstorm it is.
