World Mob Drops

So I have been farming for leather from cows forever (to be honest , half a day) and cows drop leather at such a rate that its like half an hour for one, sometimes hours for one . Although I have a high loot bonus it's useless since I'm getting leather at such a low rate, can the drop rate of common items such as leatherleather(main focus) ,zombie flesh , pigman meatmeat , bascailly what mobs definitely drops to increase ? I farm leather for the boss alter

 

Junk item drops decrease with higher loot bonus, and leather drops especially have been significantly improved over the years. If it's taking you a long time, it's your fault, not the game's.

 

I see but what can I do to get more leather , decrease loot bonus ?

How loot bonus works BTW , like in terms of more drops of that item for every kill or a percentage increase ?

 

If im not wrong, the more loot bonus you have, the more chance of of the mob dropping more armou/weapon with rarity rather than junk items. I dont think it increases the chance of the dropped item rarity

 

Wow, all this time I misunderstood what loot bonus means , I though it was similar to looting in vanilla minecraft .

 

so i unequipped everything, and used the first untradeable oak spear and still no cows dropped leather. Do you guys mind trying getting leather yourself? i have no idea why i still can't get any leather. whats the drop rate of a leather BTW

 

Takes a little while to grind, but someone said that the closer you are to the mob's level, the better the drops in terms of items should be. Because you are level 44, you might not be getting as optimal drop rates.

When I have the time, I will check the droprates myself.

Honestly, this isn't even much of a suggestion.

EDIT: I grinded the 20 leather in a little less than 10 minutes on my archer. You have some RIDICULOUSLY bad luck. But I'm grinding with no loot bonus, try that.

After 10 painful minutes I finally got a leather from the lvl 20 Durum Cow
