World 1.13 Wynn?

Hi! if it becomes 1.13, which is coming soon would wynn make the server compleatly 1.13? because 1.13 has cool features like accually swimming lol, that would probobly help the assassin class because there is no way for assassins to travel fast swimming, idk it just seems like a great idea to make the entire server 1.13 when it comes out! well, thanks for reading.

The server is still on 1.8 in terms of content, 1.9 and all the versions after that in terms of content won't be happening for a while.

 

1.13 isnt even out yet

 

There were a lot of coding changes for 1.9 meaning that the server is still on 1.8, much less 1.13.
It will take a while for the coding team to refractor the code to make the server run on 1.9 to have feature from 1.9.
Basically, wait a few months/few years possibly.

 

My lvl 99 assassin is content with using the seaskipper, thank you.

 

1.13 also has a lot of command changes, so going to 1.12 might not be far away, but updating to 1.13 probably won't happen for a long time.

 

i believe they have confirmed that they will never go to 1.13/will be a long time because of all the changes to command blocks and stuff

 

Actually I'm quite sure the server's been updated out from 1.8 thanks to ya boy JP. The reason why 1.8 still works is a plugin that allows for backwards compatibility. We could in theory drop out 1.8 at any point, but it still holds a large part of the playerbase (for some reason)

 

its the least glitchy

 

The only thing that's not glitchy in 1.8 is boats. 1.8 doesn't even support all the features Wynn's currently using, such as weapon skins and several other texturing tricks like merchant guis, and crate arrows. Horses also use the old worse system of movement.

I thought it was those undocumented code changes? Also when the server finally updates to 1.9 at some point, will updating to 1.10 and so on be more quicker?

 

I only use 1.8 because Wynn isnt the only server I play on, and those servers are the least buggy with 1.8. Once 1.8 is dropped I wont have a problem with using newer versions.

 

Yeah I don't think the server will upgrade to the newest versions, things are fine the way they are..

but 1.8 was released three and a half years ago.

 

Do you have any idea of how much work the CT (Content Team) would have to do in order to do something like this? Not to mention bringing forth a very large amount of bugs/glitches into the server as well as delaying any upcoming patches/bug fixes?

 

Ummm pretty sure CT team doesn’t do code stuff, just mobs, items, quests, building and all that lovely stuff.

Developers like JP, Jumla and maybe red (not sure if he does game or website or whatever) and some others do that work which is a considerably smaller work force.

Alternatively, I’ve got no clue what I’m talking about
