More Quest Requirements

Because I don't get nearly enough angry messages, I suggest we require quests for certain Mythic items. This would mainly serve as a way to force learning a semi-backstory for any given items. Keep in mind this only applies to applicable existing quests.

For example:
Warp requires "Fallen Delivery"
Warchief requires "A Fighting Species"
Grimtrap requires "Memory Paranoia"
Cataclysm requires "Royal Trials"
Pure requires "Star Thief"

although is it confirmed that the thing from royal trials is cata? and same for pure and warchief

 

Nope, this is just based on off-hand statements.
For example, the Mythic Treasure is described as a "cataclysm-in-a-box".
Star Thief is based on the white meteor, which Pure happens to be made from.
Warchief literally is/are orcish shoes.

 

I like this idea.

Some other suggestions for mythics that have quest requirements:
Nirvana: Beyond the Grave
Boreal: Fate of the Fallen
Lameme: Beneath the Depths
Gaia: Troubled Tribesman
Galleon: Redbeard's Booty (These don't directly reference redbeard or the dungeon but the boots are called galleon and the dungeon is called galleon's graveyard so they're close i guess)
Inferno and Ignis can have a quest requirement when the molten heights quests come out, but for now, there's nothing that really makes sense.
Stratiformis: Aldorei's Secret Part 2

Those are all the ones I could come up with that made sense with the existing quests, if anyone can come up with more that would be great.


Also, cataclysm is level 96, while royal trials is level 98. Can you think of any other quests where cataclysm would make sense for that quest to be required to use it? Since it mentions the Nether Portal in it's lore, maybe it's quest requirement can be Studying the Corrupt?

 

Strati requires Aldorei's Secret II (elves in the lore)
Lament requires Beneath the Depths
Really that's about it for onces you can connect.

Ngl i hate Quest Reqs which is why i use Diamond LI steam instead of Raging Wind for my ws build
But for mythics it kinda makes sense...

I don’t get the point though, as you will likely have done the required quest by the time you get a mythic, except maybe in the case of Royal Trials, but you would still have to be very lucky to get THAT mythic by the time you complete Royal Trials. Possibly in the case of buying a mythic, but still- you probably won’t have enough LE for a mythic either. I don’t have a mythic, but have almost every quest done. (Seven left.)

 

It gives it more of a unique feel to the weapon. It drives the Mythic section away from all the other tiers

 

I agree, while it might make lore sense, it’s just kinda pointless because youll probably have done them long before you get the mythic. Even if you don’t have to do a stupid or boring quest, it would still be unnecessary.

 

Yes, but my point is that most of the time, when a player gets a mythic, they will have the required quest completed and will completely ignore this.

I can see this as being unnecessary at best, and annoying at worst for mythic owners who don’t want to do a specific quest.

Also, have more confidence in yourself boi. It’s great to have reflection and criticism, but you also need to have enough confidence to present your ideas strongly.

Eh... says CSST which has been a huge recent population thing. But yes it may seen redundant, it'll give a reason to do some of these quests.
