So uh found this thing on a loot run.



74% spell damage?

The item guides say it only had a max of 39%.
The item also lost it's earth and thunder damage.

And the +raw melee and the -% melee make no sense...

Except that % melee doesn't affect raw melee..?

Specifically the level 97 rare weapons, not any other ones.

 

Huh, this is the one I got. Almost would seem like a melee weapon until the -% melee. So is it one of those "poke mobs for mana then bomb arrow spam" kind of weapons? http://prntscr.com/i8g88b

First thing's first. Yes, there are some loot exclusive rare items that are meant to be "jokes," but there's only one for each class and they're all level 97: The Rainmaker, Praesidium, The Specialist, and King of Hearts.
Second, Petrified Horror isn't loot exclusive.

Now, let's look at how this weapon functions.
The weapon has a massive spell boost but negative mana regen so you need to use melee to get enough mana to make use of it. The negative melee is there to completely cancel all of the base damage the weapon has, but the raw melee is added afterwards so your melee hits will not only hit pure neutral, but also always hit for the same damage: In this case, 432. Now, that sounds like bad melee, but here's the thing.

Look at the stars you got. None on raw melee, none on mana steal, none on exploding. That's a huge thing to consider here.
43% exploding is below average.
432 raw melee is below average.
5 mana steal is below average.

Yup, just like how rainmaker + cancer only does 100~ melee bc of rainmaker's +100~ melee dmg, but cancer's like -1000% melee
so basically a really good build for it would probably be a cancer -nvm rip spell dmg- plus maybe a taurus/puppeteer or earth breaker e.g.

Only the lvl 97 rares, Praesidium, The Rainmaker, The Specialist, and King of Hearts (and a legendary, Pandemonium) are joke items.

The name is highly misleading, however. Joke Items aren't necessarily bad (though Pandemonium would suggest otherwise, but that's a Pandemonium thing), they're just items that are severely gimmicky and are completely different.

Praesidium forces DEDICATED tank (as a weapon).

The Rainmaker forces Taurus.

The Specialist practically relies on its own dmg boosts coupled with raw spell for dmg. You're most likely to use it as a tank item, but the concept of DEDICATED tank is not viable with Wynn's current drop system, which heavily encourages soloing and damage dealing.

King of Hearts is purely healing-based.

All of them act as weapons that don't work normally, though Rainmaker is proof that they may be effective.

Anyhow, Petrified Horror and most rares are not joke weapons, only Praesidium, The Rainmaker, KoH, The Specialist (and Pandmonium).

Praesidium and King of Hearts are weird and not as good because the game doesn't really encourage builds that don't focus on damage and soloing: They're both made for more supportive roles on a team.

And uh, Specialist is... Specialist. >->

i guess you can use it for tank builds
cause its pretty damn hard to nullify all of the elemental damage %

 

This thread made me retarded, not becouse it's stupid but becouse I thought I understood how dmg works in Wynncraft, but now I don't.
Does anyone have a guide to how stats work in Wynncraft or if you don't can you at least explain how dmg works, becouse I just learned that I don't know anything.

There are like 30 weapons that I really want to use, can have only max 10 classes ;-;

 

that -2/4 mana regen wont really have an affect untill you cast a spell even then it will drain very very slow
