New Weapons For All Classes

Here are four weapons, one for each class, that I think should be added for the different classes.

Before we get into it, I'd like to say there would be the separate tiers such as Common, Rare, Unique, and Legendary.

Warriors and Knights - The Halberd

Halberds were used by knights as a much more versatile weapon than the sword and spear during the 14th and 15th centuries. The halberd was the primary weapon of the Swiss army during times of war.
Warriors and Knights in folklore, stories, novels, and even parts of history are occasionaly portrayed with swords halberds.
The halberd is essentially a spear with an axe head on it.
Some games portray knights and warriors with halberds. As an example, the game For Honor does this. If we take a look at the Knights faction, the Lawbringer wields a halberd.

Assassins and Ninjas - The Tonfa

Tonfa are Chinese/Malay weapons used in armed martial arts.
The tonfa is a short-ranged, quick striking weapon used to disable opponents.
Featuring a handle of which is perpendicular to the weapon itself, the weapon portion of the tonfa typically runs along the outside of the forearm.

• Jungle Wood Tonfa
• Birch Wood Tonfa
• Electrified Tonfa
• Frozen Tonfa

Mages and Dark Wizards - The Tome

A tome is a large, scholarly book.
Many mages and wizards can be seen holding tomes in legends and games.
The spell books in the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would be considered tomes.

• Tome of the Storm
• Tome of the Flame
• Tome of the Sea
• Tome of the Land
• Tome of the Elements
• Tome of Power
• Tome of Knowledge
• Tome of Life
• Tome of Death

Archers and Hunters - The Blowgun

A blowgun is a tube that when loaded and blown into, with fire a light projectile at high velocities.
Blowguns were used by many native tribes.
Blowguns were primarily used to hunt small animals.

A few examples:

• Oak Wood Blowgun
• Jungle Wood Blowgun
• Birch Wood Blowgun
• Spruce Wood Blowgun
• Glass Blowgun
• Iron Blowgun
• Wind-guided Blowgun
• Poison-darted Blowgun
• Flame-darted Blowgun

That's a really good idea

 

Pretty useless unless it has ids, if not they are like normal weapons. Then they are useless.

 

I'm confused. Do these weapons work differently than normal weapons for that class? If not, then why would I bother, say, using a generic halberd (since you haven't mentioned any new weapons of Unique or higher rarities) over even a generic spear, let alone something valuable like a Legendary spear?

 

I hadn't mentioned anything of a higher rarity because I'm not creative; however, there would be higher tiered versions of the weapons.

When you ask if they work differently, I assume you mean that the Halberd would work different than the spear, the tonfa would work different than the shears, and so on so forth. In return, I say it could. Upon original creation, I intended them to work just the same, like how the spear works the same as the hammer for the warrior.

When you say ids I assume you mean different tiers, such as Common, Rare, Unique, and Legendary. In which case, yes, they would have different tiers. They don't have any here because I have a difficult time creating names. I plan on adding some when I can think of some.

Umm... I like that you've actually thought this out, but I would say that it's not really going to work. I would suggest possibly making some class suggestions using these weapons (if you want to. Wouldn't try to force you to do it) if they work differently to the regular weapons. Obviously certain weapons have different play styles. As you mentioned, the hammer looks different to the spear but works the same because it's a different skin, normally for Earth based spears. I believe there are actually a few Halberds, the neutral spears like the ones the Detlas guards hold.

 

In all honesty, I debated on whether or not suggesting a class instead using different weapons. However, certain backlash and a lack of overall knowledge of the game prevented me from doing so. As you stated though, different weapons have different styles, so a class isn't completely out of the picture.

As far as Detlas guard spears go, those would be much closer to the naginata, a type of spear with a curved blade. A Halberd would be a spear with an axe head attached to the front of it.

I really don't see the point of this. I mean, it would be nice to get new weapon models, but the models we currently have represent a weapons elemental power. Maybe you can describe what element the weapons would elementally represent. For example, the fire spear is just thic so maybe you can have the Halberd to replace it.

 

Possibly, however I tried to refrain from guns because the owner's have said they're most likely not going to do it.

 

Shortbow? Is that even a thing? I know of Longbows, Recurve bows, Crossbows, Compound bows. Never heard of a shortbow, although I'm not denying its existence. I mean, you could have crossbows as a class's primary and maybe just change the Earth bows to something else? Idk.

 

They are like bows but then short, I think the point of them is shooting fast at a close range.

 

Fair enough. Google says yes, but mostly in games, it appears (didn't scroll down though, might have been a Wikipedia thing too). That could be quite cool: a class that has a generally fast rate of fire but less range than archer.

 

Hoke some feedback, It's a pretty good idea, but the weapons need to be something special, not just the standard weapon with a different model. And for some reason I really dislike the tome, mainly because it's not really a weapon. Replace it with something else.

 

Yeah I don't really like the ideas of books as weapons, at least, not primary weapons. Fair enough if it's a spell thing (I think there are books and stuff that fire spells in Terraria actually), but I don't really like it as a main weapon. Although, that could be a cool idea as another item...

 

the "blowgun" doesn't sound like it fits the style or lore of wynncraft

 

With regards to the comment chains as well
I understand, books aren't generally perceived as a main weapon. And as you said, Terraria does hold quite a few books of spell shooty-ness such as the Water Bolt and Golden Shower (that's actually the name of the spell). And it could be cool as another item...

As far as the shortbow goes, I knew of its existence, but I didn't use it because it kind of feels the same as all the other million types of bows already in Wynncraft. But yes, as stated, it might be interesting as a class on its own. That is, if I'm picking up what you're putting down.

Interesting... that's generally close to my original suggestion. I mainly meant this as either or, meaning it could be new skins all together or a replacement for old skins.

In all honesty, I had a really difficult time thinking of some of these (i.e. everything except the Halberd). It was around 3 a.m. for me when I originally posted this so I was just happy to get it done. But, I see your point.
