World Switching Chats (148+ Supporters)

Hi everyone! This is a succinct suggestion, but it should provide some quality of life to the communications interface.

Currently there are four lanes of chat: global, message, party, and guild chat. The standard is always set to global chat whenever you enter a message, requiring commands such as /msg, /r, /p, or /g.

My proposal is to enable commands that allow users to set their chat lanes, thus removing inconveniences if a user is in an extended conversation within one chat lane. Once the chat lane is set, any message entered will automatically be posted in that domain.

/global chat
/message chat [username]
/party chat
/guild chat

EX: I'm in a conversation with a friend for a long duration. I type /message chat [username], and I no longer need to continually type /r before each message. Instead, all text I enter will directly go into a /msg [username] format. (This does not apply if you manually enter a command such as /msg, /r, /p, or /g)

Why not, instead of /r all the time wich could be annoying if other people text you to :
/message <person name>
This way you are in a chat with that person and if someone else talks to you, you can still write a message to your friend normally without having to type /msg <friend name> <message>

We would need a command for general chat if this was implemented.

 

General chat is global chat.

 

This command suggestion is really a useful one
Base on the game design of Wynncraft, there are always having tons of mobs outside the major city
Sometimes when people msg you, or you want to reply to someones speaking in a different chat section
You always have to type the entire command like
/g (Chat)
/msg (player) (chat) [This part can be annoying sometimes base on the fact /r is set for you to continue fast-talk to your current target, not replying the latest person who msg you]
/p (chat)
Just that every single /_ thing makes typing way slower, and especially how easy is /g and /p always get messed up for me this type of person
Allowing player to set the chat to specific chat lane can makes thing way smoothly and easier on the communications
Just a simple one time typing /g
Then the chat will automaticly becomes guild chat, and everytime when you just type a message like usual without typing the /_ part
It just instantly appear in the guild chat, saving the time of typing /g
I know my representation is super awful here, but hope you guys do get most of my concepts on why supporting this idea that hard

I personally think the command would make more sense to be /chat <party, global, guild> (this would also only require 1 command to be added and remembered by players) but its your suggestion and i do think it would be really helpful. +1

It would be an amazing addition when I'm in a deep convo but then a random says to me, "Can you price check this item for me?" and then I send them a message I didn't mean to.

wait so kinda like the chats that most factions servers have?
/c f (Chat Factions)
Then anything you say after hitting enter on that will send to Faction chat
^^ or /c g in this case for guild.
/c g (Chat Global/General)
Then anything you say after hitting enter on that will send to global chat
and
/c p (Chat Party)
Then anything you say after hitting enter on that will send to Party chat

Then
/c [Player Name] ?
Then everything sent afterwards goes to that player?

You can also do chat switch in compassie maby but it sounds good
