Horse Armor

There would be 3 different types of horse armor that you could put on any type of horse.
First of all, you would probably have to think for a bit, what would horse armor actually do? Horse armor would allow you to not take as much or any damage from mobs when they happen to hit you whilst you’re on a horse.
The first type I had in mind would be a regular leather horse armor (that I guess would be gold in reality) it would allow you to take 30-35% less damage when you get hit by a mob when you’re on a horse
The second type I had in mind was Steel horse armor (Iron in reality) it would have the same concept just 55-70% less damage taken
The third I had in mind would be Diamond horse armor with 90-100% less damage taken. These percentages depend on the ids of the horse armor
These would be obtained from mobs as unidentified armor with a texture of horse armor.
Leather would be unique, Steel rare and Diamond Legendary
I have another idea that there would be such a thing as elemental horse armor ( I don’t know if it’s possible but I just thought it would be a nice addition to this suggestion ) There would obviously be 5 types of elemental horse armor, 1 for each element. I would think that it should be the diamond tier that would be elemental.
I have 2 ideas for how these would be obtained.
1- through the bosses in qira (you would get the thunder armor from the thunder boss, air armor from the air boss etc.)
2- you would get them from any mob of the same element as the horse armor (this one doesn’t seem too possible)
The elemental horse armor would not only allow you to take less damage, but it would do damage to the mob of the same element as the horse armor. (Around 10% of the mob’s hp per second that would last around 6 seconds)
The armor would require 20 sp of the same element as the horse armor is.
Regular horse armor would require no sp.

 

No. There's no point in having it, and the elemental armour (I think) would enable afk grinding, which, if you didn't know as you seem to be pretty new to forums, is not a good thing and is ban able if you do it intentionally.

 

Make any sort of cactus build (afk for exp build) great again (jk, dont kill me please)
As he said, it might encourage any sort of afk grinding, and as the result making game unbalance
Also lets be honest, who even will get hit by a mob when they are riding chestnut+ horse

 

Afk grinding is still possible, it just isn't allowed

Too much, being invincible on a horse, when with a full armor of OP stuff you can't be invincible?
Also a horse armor is supposed to protect the horse, not you ://

And just, yea, in general I don't find this a good idea to add as you put it, I'm sure there's way better way to use the Horse armor

 

Yeah, but this would be another way to do it.

 

There's enough way of doing it that it doesn't mind if there's another one, the only way of controlling it rn is via mods taking a look at people that may be afk grinding :/
For sure it would be more annoying, but it isn't the biggest problem
(Also does thorns/reflection work when you're on a horse since you can't deal damage at least with your weapon? i'm wondering)

 

No. This would require making a slew of new armors, and it would be pointless. When your on a horse you are already moving, and barely ever take damage, even on a brown horse. The only thing this would do is encourage AFK farming.
