World Make A Titles

This is not so useful, but i think its great to make some titles.

The titles displayed on the bottom/top of the player's character name

Spoiler: Example

The titles can be obtained by two ways:

Spoiler: As achievement from certain quests

The player who has complete certain quests will be rewarded a title. Ex: completing the "Tunnel Trouble" quest will get rewarded a "Tunnel Worker" title

Spoiler: As a purchasable item

Titles can be purchased from Title Merchant (marked at map as nametag), titles has different price (also different tiers if needed). Purchasing premium ranks will also get a title too

Title selector are located in Character Info. Players will able to select titles that are visible to other player. There is a limit for titles slot, players can only handle 5 titles. Title can be deleted, exept the default title (New Recruit)

could use a proof of concept for actually making titles i guess?

 

its a nice idea, if it can be implemented then this could be added, even the titles for ranks could also be added here, although the problem is how you would equip them (more on the nit picky side I know)

 

It’s a pretty cool idea. But could you like make it in a world and then send a video/screenshot of it working?

 

It's a feature in a lot of MMOs, I don't see why it shouldn't be one here. Nice idea!

perhaps not as an emerald thing, but as a store thing.
If titles are cosmetic, then exclusive titles could be won from crates or bought from the store.

Well wow, sorry for what I'll say, but from your post count, I definitevely thought it was going to be something bad and... I'm happily surprised!

I would LOVE this to be a thing, here is what I would consider good reasons of it to be here :
If it costs emeralds : Money Sink
If it cost IRL money : More money to pay jp's fixes
If it is given by quests : People will finally do quest and not just level up by grinding and doing CSST

I would prefer the quest one though, here's why :
People these day NEVER do quest when its not their first class, they want to level up fast and have chances to drop mythic tier items.
Maybe when you complete a certain % of quest, you get those ranks, because if you take a look at it, when you do quest, you help people, you save Wynn from stuff and else, and what's your reward...? Only NPCs from quest remember you (sometimes)

That's a dank idea, wich needs more people to take a look at it! I'm definitevely supporting this!

Because it's not the easiest thing to do in vanilla, and getting mods and plugins wouldn't be very.... easy.
The only way I know how to do it is by using an armour stand that is levitating so the name tag is between the player's name and the player's head. But teleporting it would be kind of hard.

This is actually a really neat idea, having rare/legendary titles displayed in different color same as gear for doing certain tasks. I dont have anything to add just that its a good idea.

 

Don't see any reason not to add it, other than having no idea how to do it. And as @Khaps said, there are several reasons to add them and reasons to try and get them.

There could be a menu, where the titles are nametags. Kind of like gear skins, you equip them by left clicking.

Level 1: New Recruit/Young Recruit
Level 50: Experienced Fighter
Level 75: Elite Soldier (could use some work kek)
Level 100: Long Journey's End (Totally not ripped from Super Mario Odyssey)

Store Titles can be seasonal, like a spooky title for halloween or a christmas-y title for the wynnter
