Mage Balance

    I feel like many people, including me, think that mage is the strongest class. But I think it has gotten to the point of where mage needs to be slightly changed. Not to the point where it is full on much worse then before, but to the point where it is on the same level as all other classes.

    Heal:
    I feel that two things can happen to the heal spell. Option one, it does not even need to be changed. It is the only spell in the game that does not do damage (to my knowledge) but it is incredibly good because of how you gain health that you have already lost. Option two, heal can do a tiny bit of damage. This probably wont happen but I would like to see how this would play out because of how it could affect PVP and other things. This would be unlocked when the heal spell is fully maxed out and it could be the spell that does the least amount of damage in the game but could apply a affect like making the enemy slower or give them a small amount of poison.

    Teleport:
    In my opinion, I do not think that teleport needs to be changed at all. It is a great movement ability but has its ups and downs. Mainly the down thing is close range teleporting can be difficult at some times because you will overshoot but I don't think this is that bad of a problem.

    Meteor:
    Alright this needs to be nerfed. It is such a strong spell and mage has a great spell damage stat it just makes this think so strong. I think it should be nerfed on the damage and travel speed. Damage because it do so much damage and travel speed because it would give more time for enemy's to get away and make mage a easier target.

    Ice snake:
    This needs to be balanced. It should do more damage but should not be able to make people stop moving. Instead of completely making someone come to a complete stop, they could have a slowness effect. The higher the level of spell, the more slowness it gives. A final thing I recommend is that when a enemy is hit with a ice snake, they take less damage for about three to four seconds. Something like 15% or 20% less damage at max level ice snake.

    What do you think about this idea? I hope that this will be something that the WynnCraft team likes and will use in the game.

    TBH if you’re fast enough you can avoid meteor. I think Mage is fine

    I think Meteor is fine as is, I mostly play Mage, well only play Mage really and whenever I look at the damage of other classes in wynndata I got jealous because they have a lot more spell damage AND meteor takes some time to fall down.

    Your Ice Snake suggestion is basically taking away it's purpose and making it more bland, that's no from me. You also would take away the "synergy" it has with Meteor.

    I just think heal should cost more mana and icesnake should give slowness for like 1 second less and mage will be fine

    I'm completely against this tbh. Mage is, if anything, the weakest class, not the strongest. Every other class is stronger in terms of damage, mage is really used for support.

    Option 3: it gets completely revamped as it is brokenly overpowered. It doesn't do damage, but the utility it provides it too much. It takes no skill to play mage purely because of the heal spell. Just spam meteor - heal - meteor - heal and so on.

    It's only brokenly overpowered if youre at least average in skill.
    You still need *some* skill to play mage, like timing your spell combos.
    (As for me, my Health Regen is something like 30 every 4 seconds, so heal is super important to me)

    No, if spell is overpowered, spell is overpowered. It's not a subjective thing. It provides too much of a benefit with too little cost and with no cooldown.
    It needs changing just like archer's arrow shield. It completely ruins the character balance.

    the heal revamp is very needed, and i kind of agree ice snake should be changed too

    but you want to nerf mages only damaging spell?

    I think I remember someone suggesting that Heal could become a ranged spell, where instead of the healing being centred on the player, it shot a projectile that had the same effect. This makes it much less convenient in combat (as you have to look away from your target to heal yourself), but more useful in a support capacity.
    So a spell that actually buffs enemies hit with it? I really don't see that working... Ice Snake is fine as it is, it's a specialised utility spell that's meant primarily as a way of stopping enemies from reaching you. It was never meant to be useful in dealing damage. You say it needs to be "balanced", but I find it impossible to tell whether you think it's underpowered or overpowered.
    Meteor may seem overpowered at first glance, but it's really not. The total damage is less than multihit or arrow storm, and wands have lower base damage anyway. It's also the only way for a Mage to do actual damage. I remember that against midgame bosses my mage often ended up in a stalemate where my meteor damage couldn't keep up with their regen. Mage damage is underwhelming, it's the versatility and easy survivability that make the class overpowered.

    Warrior's fine. It got nerf in mana a while back, and (I think) all of its glitches were fixed.

    Heal needs increase mana cost, It's balanced-ish in PvE but broken in PvP.
    Meteore is fine, It does balanced damage, Is the only 100% offensive Mage spell, The slowest casting spell in-game and extremely easy to dodge.
    Ice Snake is a 70% utility 30% offensive spell, It does bad damage, But has really good accuracy and can be pretty useful in PvP, It's completely fine, The entire idea of it is that it does no damage, And if it did do damage... Well it being one if not the most accurate spells in the game would be pretty broken (When in max level it's literally like a laser guided missile).
    Teleport is fine when compared to other mobility spells, Would be cool if it gave like a small walkspeed boost for a few seconds after being casted though.
    I doub't you'll think the same after fighting a Statue rainbow cactus Fatal poison heal spam Mage.
    Also Mage is based on spell-spam, On paper it does less damage per each hit but after you calculate DPS it starts balancing out, And don't forget damage is far from the only factor when it comes to how strong a class actually is.
    Mage has the most potential when it comes to PvP, So it's far from the weakest class.
    Altough when compared to other classes from a PvE aspect an least you have a Mythic yes, It will be slightly weaker, It serves more of a utility/support purpose when it comes to PvE.

    agreed, however a problem with ice snake is when it gets spammed with poison and then they just tp away :/

    That's a problem with poison in general, Not ice snake.
    Poison can literally be used with any high-accuracy/area damage utility spell that is meant to do no damage, To do damage (War scream).
    I feel like poison in general was a bad idea to add into the game by this point.
    Maybe restrict it from use with certain spells?

    yea I think so, but maybe spells that aren't meant to deal enough damage shouldn't be allowed to deal poison no?
