World Text To Speach Dialogue

Who would do the voice acting though?

 

I was going to mention that. Apart from the fact that the rp file would be huge, you would also have to go through every single dialogue possibility and have someone record them saying it, as well as the fact that it would 'ruin immersion' having the same voice for every single character.

 

This is already in minecraft if you play 1.10.

While is is true, its VERY annoying and buggy.
not to mention its still beta in 1.12 and they are testing new things with it. remember that it can always be removed by microsoft In the blink of an eye

For real though I want this badly if it’s possible

 

Problems::
- Would make RP way too big and would take even longer to download. Might be so big that some players can’t even download it
- Aren’t enough sound files to create all the dialogues; imagine if you’re casting a spell, and instead of the normal click-click-click. You get a “ah-ah-ah”. This would mean changing all the code, and all the cmbs
- Would take a huge amount of time/money to implement

Pros::
- Would be quite cool

 

There is actually a proof of concept mod called Wynncraft QuestVO which does this for the Kings Recruit quest. I have also decompiled and had a look at the mod and it seems to be pretty simple and expandable

 

you can actually add your own files to texture packs instead of replacing
look at DvZ for example, i tested some of the playsounds they use in singleplayer and their names arent actual minecraft playsounds, yet they produce sounds

this might be the reason of why the /playsound command doesnt give me error when playing a non-existant sound, but just not playing anything

 

You can add sounds in resourcepacks, you don't need to replace them!
The only problem to adding voice acting would be the size of the rp... It woud be great if mojang improved their rp loading system
