World Potion Bag (20+ Supporters)

Hi there,

Just wanted to pitch the idea for a purchasable bag that could carry potions. This would prevent classes other than Mages to carry Potions easier than having to have a cluttered inventory full of healing, and allow for you to pick up items with minimal effort.

This bag would be purchased could be purchased from Potion Merchants for a price range of either 3EB - 5EB. This would probably be quite easy to pull off, perhaps a 15 slot bag that can carry potions, with two features. The first feature (the sign on the left of the bag) would allow you to sort them by potion type, and the second feature (the circle on the right side) would be to recycle all potions in the bag, essentially discarding them.

I've also created a demonstration of what it would be like (shown below)


I believe this would be an interesting addition, changing how your inventory is managed. To my knowledge, this is a original idea (correct me if I'm wrong).

Update: The newest variation of this idea goes something like this:
The two buttons, the Quick Move and Sort buttons (shown in the picture below) are replacing the old system. The Sort would sort potions into types, having the healing potions first so they're easy access. The Quick Move button would deposit all your potions in your inventory into the bag after clicking it, allowing for an easier way to fill the bag.

Nice to see you've put some effort into this. Not a bad idea. Can you drink potions straight from the bag? I'm guessing not, as that sounds weird anyway and could be op.

 

I think that might be a bit too overpowered if players could spam drinking pots, so probably not.

 

Can you mention that you cant use the potion in the bag, and have to click it in your inventory before using it, basically screwing you if you take it while in combat?

 

It's called battle management, or, getting the potions you need out while you're able.

Idea 95%: Similar to backpacks in a way but since it's just potions it wont be overpowered.

Presentation 92%: Really good with details, examples, and even a picture.

Simple concept that could be added without breaking the game, and would definitely make it more fun.

 

It would be better just for potions to stack.

Not exactly, just increase the cooldown between each one and it will be perfect.

Thank you all for the great support for this idea.

I've decided to make some changes to the icon on the right, which used to dump all potions. I believe this idea wasn't a good one, and have replaced it with a new feature. Instead, it would put the top row of potions (the top five) into your hotbar, trying to fit them in. This feature would have a minute cooldown so players cannot spam/abuse this idea.

I feel the quickmove is a bit too op, and trying to become something or the other like the potion stacking. But Im still supporting.

 

I believe that only adding to the hotbar with a minute cooldown is fair, but perhaps filling potions into your inventory is broken as well, so I'll have a think about how I can fix it

Using vanilla minecraft chest features you can completely fill your inventory with any potion of a certain type from a chest.

 

I don't feel that the quick move is op tbh. You probably don't even need a cool down, because if it fills all available space in your hotbar you won't need potions for at least a minute, I would have thought. You could make it so it only moves health potions, or even that the bag can only hold health potions, though.
