    Heya!
With 1.17 came the quest tracking feature. This is a pretty good feature, but something is clearly missing. It doesn't actually track, it's just a popup in your chat to avoid clicking the quest book.

What if, along with that feature, the compass would point to the quest coordinates (if there are coordinates to track)? It could even track things like "Return to NPC" in case the player forgot where the NPC is. We've been getting great quality of life features recently, this would be really useful!

There's not much else to say, I know this is an incredibly short suggestion, but it's just so simple there's no need to add more

eh, so long as it doesn't screw anything up (spawn locations or whatever), sure why not

That was part of my original better quest book and quest tracker suggestion.

They didn't add it so I guess it might be harder than we think. For example:
    • For all the puzzle quests (Pirate’s Trove style), giving away the coords would ruin the quest. So they need a way to block the tracking for certain quest stages.
    • For many quests, the actual coords of the NPC or region might be misleading, if you must teleport (by command blocks or script) somewhere else (offmap for example) to get there.
    • The newer quests use a script system, which is even harder to track and might not be possible.
    • Some quests (like Iron Heart, Aldorei, Hallowynn) got few paths you can choose from, so they are impossible to track. (A bit of Trivia: As an ex-CT member, I know the choice in quests feature isn't fully intended. It's being done by giving 2 NPC's the same stage number, or by using script. So it'll be even harder to keep tracking those - they will confuse the system)

I mean, it would be useful, but for the reasons @Lotem mentioned above, which I didn't know about until now, it won't be added.
