That said, you're AREN'T MEANT to multiple Hive Items in a build; that's just straight up abuse.

 

Says who. There is LITERALLY nothing that states you're not supposed to use two hive items in a build. Saying that that is abusing is just downright idiotic. Abusing is the old tier glitch, abusing is using the specialist bug, abusing is finding a loophole for infinite crates. Wearing the hive helmet and hive chestplate in a build because they have good synergy IS NOT "straight up abuse".

At least he still worked for it, which is esoecially a lot of work for doing another class. And why is it his fault that you’re able to use them together? If you think it’s OP, then take your grievances out on Selvut who makes the items instead of being rude.

I got DS b4 DST came out. It’s just better because it’s more interactive and they’ve stopped updating DS. I believe they are beta testing the new Forge update.

If Selvut really didn’t want that to happen, he easily could have edited the stats, unlike most game breaking bugs.

I’m not going to debate if it’s OP to where them together. Though you can’t say it’s “abuse” just because you personally don’t like it and it’s not based on a glitch.

 

Yeah, they moved their focus from updating DS to focusing on DST. It automatically has RoG in it, and has all those cool new storyline features lik the Fuelweavers and the other things like the Antlion and Moonstaff and whatnot.

I'm not too excited for the Forge update, as it's a 100% combat thing. But, it introduces a new layer to the Lore (it has to do with the Nightmare Throne) and you know me, I'm a sucker for weird lore (Dont Starve lore is one of my favorites, along with Wynncraft)

Also... just Multiplayer in general...

 

try doing 0-100 runs, if you're lucky and dedicated you can get from lvl 1 to lvl 100 in a good 2 days.

 

Ikr, if they ever expand on the DST lore I’d be thrilled. I liked it especially when they did all those teasers about Charlie and all. The whole game is pretty unique, it just needs some more direction story wise, especially with its cast of characters.

 

They actually did expand a lot. With the update with the ancient fuelweaver, you can read the writing on the walls around, which tells the story of the Ancients.. Basically the Ancients (that lived in the ruins) were bug-like creatures until one of them (I forget his name) discovered Shadow Fuel. They used the fuel to springboard their society and technology, until SOMETHING happened and they went too far, and their civilization was destroyed.

This SOMETHING seems to be connected to the Shadows. And in the Forge update talking about the Nightmare Throne, it seems like there's more stuff coming.

And don't forget, Charlie isn't the master of Shadows. She's as much of a prisoner as Maxwell is, as Wilson and the rest are.

 

Selvut can't just make it so the items are unwearable together; he can't just create a "Hive Piece Restriction" thing because of the code and what not.

PS: Salted nixed the idea of making them into Set Items that would give huge -sp when you use multiple.

PPS: Selvut actually did edit the stats as shown in Special Warning, it's just that you can't create a restriction strong enough that wouldn't also break the item in the process. Adding huge -sp in the 2 other elements would not only restrict the item's ability completely, but would also not affect old additions.

Come up with a viable solution for this problem, and I'll concede; otherwise, it should be evident that it is the equivalent of a glitch.

Using Multiple Hive Pieces is basically disrespecting the game, might as well not complain when the game retaliates.

I do sort of have to agree with Zed, while I also really dislike people using multiple Hive pieces and agree with Selvut on that notion, it's not something that's bannable, just something that's generally considered taboo.

Even if someone used a build I disliked, it would still be pretty shitty for them to get hit by a dangerous bug, to which I'd say "Yeah I'd probably be a little upset if I were in that person's shoes".

Using 2 Hive items in a build is really dumb, but the SP glitch is really dumber.

So what if I used the abusive build? Does it mean I should instantly lose my hive stuff for doing so?
No, if selvut really wanted he could’ve made a rule about not using more than 1 or no cancer melee builds, I shouldn’t be in the blame for using it

 

There are major differences between something being game breaking because of a glitch and because of game design. A glitch is not intentional period, while game design is subjective and changes based on who’s in charge. In this case, if Salted said no to that design decision, that’s his choice and that’s how he wants the game to be, regardless of what Selvut wants. And even if you disagree, that’s still his right to make that decision because it’s his game. Abusing glitches, however, subverts all of the designer’s intentions.

My point is that if you give the player options, especially in a game where build variety and choice are key, you can’t say they can’t wear it because you personally don’t like it. I do concede that it maybe OP, but taking into account that he had to level up a 2nd class to lvl 90 and pvp is inherently broken, it’s not doing much harm and he worked for it, unlike most glitches like the crate glitch. If you really want to fix the problem, urge Salted to let Selvut make the changes he needs to, instead of being rude to someone.
