My Thoughts On A Grave Mistake!

One of the scariest, fun and detailed quests I have ever played! I like how they add the cool armour stand animations and armour stand players (we need more of this!)

The part where Mael shows you what happened is really cool as it gives a bird's eye view with some cool animations! Keep up the good work!

I think I really am out of the loop, and I saw this multiple times: what's so bad about Eye of the Storm?

 

It even gives kewl poison neck

 

Eye of the Storm is extremely tame compared to Tower of Amnesia and Star Thief.

I'll explain it. Eye of the Storm had some parts of the story that didn't make much sense. Those parts were ironed out a bit at a later time to make more sense. It doesn't need a rework if the "confusing" parts of the story have been corrected.

 

The basic idea is good and all, but both design and writing is quite poor. E.g the guy you need to rescue somehow had a corrupted artifact from "the southern jungles of your land". This makes no sense. Why should s villager from the Kander Forest have a Wynnic artifact? Then, you fight the Hellhound "boss" and suddenly the cultists are passive with one apparently escaping with his stuff. Then the priest knows everything and your sent to a guy who thinks you can't see the demon hand ( which you can't with low render distance ). Then you go through a massive secret tunnel full of cultists and a random ball puzzle.
When you must later retrieve the scroll that was randomly stolen, it's hard to find the tree and the ranged mobs may kill the miniboss, who also may be trapped in water. The Pit of Despair is bad designed with to much fire and mobs that may follow you and snipe you at the parkour. The man you meet there, is somehow faster than you and has broken his leg. The boss battle is campable and a bit boring. There are probably more things that I haven't mentioned, but it is pretty bad.

 

While those are just short and forgettable, Eye of the Storm is longer, more annoying, and just doesn't make sense. Those quests had the excuse of being low leveled, but Eye of the Storm.... no

 

At least Eye of the Storm made more sense than a tower that has no lore to back up why it's the place to go to "forget" with a terrible fetch quest that had nothing to do with it and a star that makes people go crazy and yet for some reason it has absolutely no effect on you whatsoever for whatever reason.

 

I guess what I'm trying to say that if it was a low leveled short fetch quest, I wouldn't have cared as much. I do see your point though. These quests still are pretty crappy.

 

I never understood the bird's-eye views in the quest.

Imo abyssal amulet is shit, drain is better for lifesteal and contrast/planet healer is better for poison. Yes, it is somewhat useful for its level if you have nothing better to wear since it doesn't really have any negatives on it. However, you'll only really wear it for a few levels before you can get a better necklace(the royal amulets)

 

The royal amulets dont have poison.

 

I never said that they did, I meant that the buffs on the Royal amulets are arguably better than the poison on abyssal. I don't know about you, but I'd choose 1/4 mana regen on stormy or 650 health on blazing in a heartbeat over a mediocre amount of poison on abyssal.

 

About the Star Thief:
I agree with you that they should either recreate this quest from zero or maybe make it so that you get crazy during the process of bringing the Star back to the initial NPC, but if don't do it right that would become somewhat similar to Shattered Minds - go there get something that I really want have a mad hallucination and then come back.
I also think that this quest was maybe a tip to "???", but "Purple And Blue" has a much better one and is a much better quest in general.
