World Make A New Use For The Compass

I randomly got this idea, and there isn't really much to say about it here we go:

Just to spice things up a little while, rather than NPC's giving you coordinates which you must mercilessly follow, how about once in a while they say 'Follow your compass', Or just something like this:

[10/10] Ildan: I've marked the direction on your compass, follow it and you should find your destination.

Pros:
-it can change things up, making it easier for the GM's, so they don't have to constantly find new ways to say 'look at your quest book'
-it can offer more of a challenge, which can be fun
-it can put a use to something that doesn't do anything

Cons
-Navigating a compass around things like mountain ranges takes logic, and a good sense of direction, which some people don't have
-It would require a new quest book system, so glitch's don't happen with multiple quests

Make it so you can select which quest you want to do by picking it in the quest book, maybe a track button next to the quests can also help find unaccepted quests

 

I actually like that the compass points to ragni all the time, I use it to navigate

 

If you know where the 4 cardinal towns (Ragni, Almuj, Nesaak, and Nemract) are in relation to eachother and remember that, for example, Nemract is North, you can navigate just as easily. Hell, you could even just use F3.

As for the suggestion: it's okay as a base idea, but it could use a lot more content. For example, a new GUI where you can choose what quest it's tracking.

Additionally, you could add a new feature that allow the compass to also track any towns you've been too, giving the compass a use outside of quests as well.

TL;DR good suggestion but needs more features

 

In gavel territory that I'm not 100% familiar with I have no need to open a map or press f3, it's easier to take a look at the compass to see if I'm going towards ragni it away from it
