So I run into this issue quite often. You are about to leave a place like Nemract on boat to go to an island that could kill you (ie. Legendary Island, or Volcanic Isles for the lower levels). So you decide, "Oh, I might die if I go here, let me put my emeralds in my bank, so I don't end up losing them". You put the emeralds in the chest, make your way to the merchant and say, "Crap, I don't have any emeralds" This is when an ATM becomes helpful. You don't have to travel all the way back to the closest bank so that you are able to just get enough emeralds for the trip.

Another situation where this happens is when you're going somewhere like the Powder Master, who is not nice enough to convert E-Blocks into emeralds. You get there with your E-Blocks because you want to be as condensed as possible, and you realize, "I have to go all the way back to the bank just to get my emeralds from my bank, when I could just get it right here if there was an ATM feature".

So basically the reason I feel an ATM is necessary is because it can save you a lot of patience and time to not go to your bank to get enough emeralds to either put a powder on, or travel somewhere just so that you can do that and have to go back to the bank so that you can put the emeralds back to either save inventory space, or to just put the emeralds back in case you die with low soul points.

(Thanks for taking time to read this garbage)

I mean you could just think ahead. We don't want the game to be braindead.

I don't think coding and implementing an entire system for such a menial task is worth it or really necessary. If you want a fix then just don't forget your emeralds.

If I'm not mistake, the only thing that you would need to do is place an ender chest at a merchant

Would've been nice if you'd actually mentioned that that was what you meant in the original post. It's better, but there's still more issues.

For one, this now means you can access all of your items at these "ATMs" instead of just your emeralds, so suddenly they're the equivalent of pitstops.

More importantly, the more useful the area the "ATM" is in, the more unbalanced it gets. If you put banks next to every merchant of every kind all over the map, then actual banks would be far less useful, and the entire game would become leagues easier. It'd be close to having transportable banks, which is something that's really not a good feature. Let's say you only put them near certain merchants: if you put them near merchants that are out and about, they're too good. If you put them near merchants that are in the cities, there's no real point.

Basically, just putting ender chests all over the map is just shitting on the banks feature and making the game easier than it needs to be. Even if you try to balance it by only putting a few of them, you're just back to the original issue in most cases.

TL;DR if you're planning on using emeralds then bring some. Hell, just bring a few anyway.

Okay, so as a compromise, maybe there could be 1 chest in the middle of town, and then 1 on opposite sides, like north and south, or east and west, so that that aren't too many, and there won't be only one place to get your stuff from. There are also towns like Ternaves that don't care and emerald merchant, so you have to travel all the way back to Detlas to get emeralds. I think putting 2 extra e-chests would be beneficially to towns like that and to prevent from traveling from the west edge of town, back to the center, just to go back to the west and get what you wanted.

The problem with this is that an ATM, even multiple ATM's in places like cities and LI si gonna make the bank useless until you want to convert emeralds.

It's not needed since it just add's more reasons to not meet people on Wynn, since we have already gone down in server capacity so random encounters have been made smaller especially since they also added Gavel, i think that an ATM system would just make random player encounters even smaller than they already are.

It is also not needed since we already have alot of banks throughout the world and it isn't so bad when you get a a black horse or better, just use a walkspeed build or just use your mobility spells, then you're less than 1 min. away from any bank or location with an enderchest, unless you are in The Ocean, Dernel Jungle or House of Twain.

A better way to do this is just have the merchants any take and condense any emeralds you have in your inventory.
That way you don't have to have every type of currency to buy one item.

As for the ATM, plan ahead, or fall behind.

ATM is basically useless. You could plan what you're gonna need in said island and get your items you thought about. (like 32 emeralds so you can do multiple seaskipper rides) This doesn't take time and you won't need to go back and forth.

As for the ender chest next to merchants idea, it would make the game much easier. If you put ender chests to said merchants, the importance of banks would decrease, as banks are for ender chest and converting (which isn't less necessary than bank space). Ternaves and Detlas are like 2 feet apart. Jungle Village is near ToL/Troms. Maltic is close to Nemract. Bremminglar is just a path away from Almuj. Most islands have a seaskipper ride to Nemract, Selchar or Llevigar.

I just don't understand how it makes the game easier. Life is easier because there are ATMs in a baseball park where they want you to spend money? Life is easier because ATMs are in amusement parks where they want you to spend money? The way I see an ATM is a way for them to get you to spend all your money, which does NOT make life, or this game, easier

ATMs do make thing easier in real life, so you don't have to go to your bank to withdraw cash.
However the difference between real life and gaming is, you never get tired, and the goal ISN'T to make it as easy as possible, then the game begins to become less interesting.
    Just like real life.
Literally the reason games were created.
Not to mention, in real life EVERYONE was in on the creation of most increases in quality of life, however in game only a few select people can even do this, so the joys of doing it together are also taken.
