Okay, fine.
There's no good reason for this to be implemented, other than to appease the 9 year olds who love this cringy roleplaying.
This doesn't add anything to the server, other than the ability to advertise, "Hey! We have a feature in Sword Art Online!" (which will just make Wynncraft look bad)
There are many problems with being able to see another's inventory.

Also, some problems with the thread itself:
–Details. Without details, most of the feedback will be "add details"
–Title. You couldn't come up with anything better?
–Proofreading. Just so you know, shift keys exist.

Hey! Guess what? If you have nothing nice to say, or, if you can't say it in a nice way, don't say it at all.
Also, if you cross the line on "15. Being passive aggressive or flat out rude to people.", on any thread, you will most likely get to have a personal conversation with a moderator. My advice? Don't cross that line. Not even if someone gets upset and says that they would rather leave than put up with the saltiness on our forums, and I can't really blame them for that. In fact, how about we stop being so salty, and try to just be nice? To everyone. All of the time. Or, if you can't be nice, just leave them alone. If you want to pester your friends, that's a different story, within limits. And it would always be best to let everyone else in on the joke, too. When someone fairly new comes up with a question, suggestion, complaint, or idea, or anything else, why would anyone want to give them a bad impression of our community? Think about that, OK?

 

Well okay, but that doesn't excuse that the OP didn't do any reasarch on the matter + didn't put much thought into it, let alone actual detail.
It's natural for people to get angey over something that they find stupid and unneeded.
Also it's not like OP wasn't salty himself. He just straight up started bitching becouse people disagreed with his idea.
Lastly I'm pro free speech, and if the people ant to say that OP's idea is shit, then I say let them. It's not like they're telling OP to kill themselves and that they are garbage human or a bigot. So I don't support forcing people to be nice to others who's ideas they disagree with.

We see that a lot, so, from our perspective, it gets tiring. From a newcomer's perspective, they haven't seen it, or dealt with it. Does that mean that we should act out against anyone? Of course it doesn't. So, it's needs to stop.

I disagree. It's natural to be surprised, and to react with a disgusted or dismissive attitude. Anger? That's may be natural, but that doesn't make it right. It's also natural for a lot of people to just be resigned, and explain what's wrong with the situation, without getting angry. I'd much rather have the latter be the norm, than the former.

Don't twist the truth. I counted 11 or so responses to him that were rude. How would you react, if you suggested something, and you had that many people jumping on you, all at once? Tell me that you wouldn't get defensive, and I'll call you a liar, based on the previous quoted comment. Return fire with fire, and we'll soon burn down Wynn. This needs to stop. We don't have to be aggressive with people just because we perceive, right or wrong, that they are being aggressive with us.

Did you ever hear of the saying that you can catch more flies with sugar than with salt? There's a lot of free speech that we don't say anything about, that gets really close to the border of being rude. However, like I said, it gets to the border. When it crosses the line, like it did here, multiple times, and when another forum member points it out, and it still keeps going, that is NOT acceptable. A tiny amount of salt can make something taste better. If you use a lot of salt, you get used to it pretty quickly, and stop noticing it. If you use a lot, it will kill you. Stop being so salty. We don't need it, nor do we want it, in anything that is officially Wynn.

So, every time that you have an idea, that someone else disagrees with, like a teacher or a parent or another relative, or even a stranger at say, a grocery store, it's OK with you if they verbally rip into you, and mock you? I will NEVER go along with that, nor will any other staff member. We are saying it, and have said it before, PLEASE stop being rude to new members.

In effect, what you are saying is, is that it's OK to break all of these rules?:

Use some common sense and enjoy the game!

No way is that going fly. You know it, too. We'll do our best to stop that each and every time that we become aware of it.

Okay, so I read entire thread again and... I found only 2 comments that could be considered "rude". One was joking about the wynncraft turning into a 9 year old christian server; and the other was saying how fucking stupid the idea was. It was said by a builer though so... that doesn't count? The other replies were either jokes how anime is le traesh or actual constructive criticizm. Hell, even the person who commented the about Wynn turning into 9 year old christian server, later apologized and gave actual constructive criticism.
And as for if many people jumped at me becouse they didn't like my idea, I would probably get defensive, but I wouldn't be just like "fuck this, I'm not talking with you becouse you are salty". I would listen to them and try to have actual conversation with them. Not every argument is a flame war.

What do you mean by "rude". Rude can mean a lot of things. Or are you just trying to be so PC and uphold your high standarts that you shuting down people's opinions becouse you disagree with them.
I could say that you're being "rude" by not letting people speak out their opinions. But you're probably gonna say that's not how you defy "rude". But what is really rude? In one can colture it can be considered rude to point at somebody, while in other it may be rude to not cannibalise your dead relative. You're taking the definition of rude set out be your higher ups and collagues. And then you take thoose standarts and throw them onto others. You defy what's right and wrong, just becouse: A. You've been told that thoose values are right and everybody else is wrong. And B. You are in postion of higher power. Just as thoose who are in higher position then you are telling you how to behave, you're telling others how to behave aswell; maybe with some twists and adjustments so that you can say what is right and only right. If we were to switch postions, me as a moderator and you as "another player" then I would get many people agreeing with me, simply becouse I'm imn higher power. And if you said something I don't like I would just call out "stop being rude" and shut you down. Ofcourse I wouldn't do that becouse I'm pro free speach, even if it's "rude".

Actually that's wrong. For instance if you cook steak you can add a lot of salt or pepper, without ruinning the taste. It's actually a common practice to use a lot of salt, since a lot of it cooks off. And since steak is generally considered a high quality meal, it prooves that sometimes a lot of salt is good. And so what if salt can kill you? So does:
- sun;
- over hydration;
- exercising;
- sugary drinks;
- fast food;
- sex;
- uncookcked potatoes;
- cyanide;

All of thoose things in large doses WILL kill you if taken in large doses.

I mean it's not ideal and I would start disscussing with them the subjest that we disagree with. And so what if they mock me? That just means that they themselves don't have good counter argument and have resort to mocking me. That, or they're just stupid, which then I can assert my self worth by acknowledging my right. But whatever they say, I'm still pro free speach. Becouse we're either can have full free speach and can say whatever we like, even if you consider it "rude", or we won't have free speach atall. Limiting free speach is NOT free speach.

But you calling me a bigot for saying that there are only two genders is not considert mocking? Well I guees if Anita Sarkeesian gets a "free pass" for calling Sargon a "garbage human", just becouse she's a woman and he's a "opressing nazi male troll", then I guess being a mod also gives you a free pass?

But the way I see it, I really wish we could stop trying to justify our frustrations towards someone's suggestions and just leave it be. ;-;

Yeah, I also don't believe having a marriage system would necessarily work here. However, it doesn't stop them from doing something similar with a bunch of friends. It is a role-playing community after all!
Nevertheless, despite the fact that I may disagree on a suggestion like this, I still believe that we've blown it waaaaay out of proportion. And if you look at the individual's message count, you can clearly see that they're new to this community. So why can't we just give them a break? :c

Now on to my personal opinion on the suggestion:
At first glance I actually kinda thought it was a fun little idea to add. But after thinking about it for a bit, I realized that perhaps it isn't that strongly suited for a place like this. I say this because from my experience so far in this community, Wynncraft is fantastic for the vast amount of land we get to explore, and the interactions with other players is what really makes the experience memorable. Of course by that I mean the adventures and boss fights you can get into with your friends, but pursuing a more romantic approach to the community seems completely out of character for what Wynn built its values on.

Like I said before though, there is nothing that's stopping you from trying to role play with a more romantic twist to it, it isn't called a massive multiplayer online ROLE PLAYING GAME for nothing! You can still find friends and come to this server to do it, I just simply personally believe that adding a whole system based on a genre of role playing seems rather redundant.

Nevertheless, I wanna thank you for taking time out of your way to actually suggest something. But being a new guy like you, I just wish we had a more friendly approach to this topic.
I really wish it didn't have to go like this, but nevertheless, thank you for suggesting.

I just hope that your perspective to the community doesn't get heavily altered because a few certain people failed to be a little more mature with their approach to a suggestion they didn't appreciate. <3

Wynn is not a governmental entity and your speech is not protected by the Constitution of the United States. Wynn is privately owned. If we tell you that what you are doing is not acceptable, it's not acceptable. Too many comments in this thread crossed the line and are just rude and not acceptable. We are asking everyone to stop being so salty. It's been asked before, a lot of people toned down their comments, but now, it's starting to flare up again. Quit it. You wouldn't want to be treated that way, and we don't want new players and new forum members to be treated that way. It's just not nice, not civil, and it's not necessary.

We can talk in pm about the rest, OK?
