It was a big update, and I like everything besides the pvp changes, like this clearly wasn't designed for people who actually did pvp, some people say it adds more stategy, but that's just dumb, everybody just uses swords as they have the highest dps. But apart from taking adding "strategy" they took away all skill. Melee is basicly trading hits now and all combos were just removed, that was the biggest and most skill involved part of pvp!

TDLR: 1.9+ pvp sucks

Well that's your opinion, imo 1.9+ pvp is better, you haven't played enough with it, combos are definitely a thing in this version, the only downside that I can think of is the rod (which wasn't even vanilla and required bukkit to begin with, now the vanilla usage is pulling people and can be changed)
but the majority of the servers enable the old pvp anyways, and wynncraft switching to 1.9+ wouldn't affect combat at all since we already have a custom combat system

Not without, y'know, actually using it. That just creates more problems.

Overall this suggestion is just unnecessary. It creates issues without solving any different ones.

 

It could be entirely possible. I have played minigames which require yiu to use offhand, so yes. But alas, we are not ready yet. Guilds need to be fixed, items have to be nerfed. Wynncraft's content demand is too much for 3 coders.

I wasn't aware that the team had expressed any ideas for use of offhand, although I haven't really been spending all my time on the forums.

I am not suggesting anything which would break the archer class. Anyway, the archer is just like the other classes in its attack - it is not you firing the arrow (you have no arrows to fire anyway), but the server firing the arrow as if you fired it when you right click. Therefore finding a use for the offhand would not break the archer class any more than other classes, despite its actually unneeded swap round of keys. You only right click as that is the legacy approach from when archers actually did shoot the arrows. Additionally, my suggestion is that the offhand key be used as a keybind to quickly cast spells, and that the actual offhand remain empty (sorry if unclear).

I am aiming to work around the issue which is that the right click detection is sometimes a bit finicky, rather than just suggesting they make it work better, which I understand is difficult as they cannot lower people's pings, which is the main cause of problems.

Once we do a full update to 1.9 probably, but until then it gives an advantage to other players.

 

Perhaps, but alternatively, it could be used as a pull factor towards getting more players into 1.9, which would make the transition process less likely to generate complaints.
