So bare in mind, my highest character is a lvl 39 assassin (abandoned) and I play a lvl 36 archer and have completed the first 26% of the quests so if this is a thing, I appologise.

So I use my 'Escape' spell alot to travel further distances, as well as it giving the speed boost, and I thought it would be cool if I was able to use 'Escape', turn around and glide to my next location. I guess this idea is sort of Zelda inspired as in Breath of the Wild....
... you are eventually able to boost yourself into the air, it's an abillity you are able to unlock in the story and from then, you can glide to your destination, or at least part of the way.
    *SPOILER END*

Anyway, I think a glider would be cool, I get that it would be a late game thing, or atleast a Gavel thing, but it could be really fun and save so much time on traveling. (It may also open some oppotunities for some events like flight racing or something)

First of all yes, there is a spoiler thing. Do SPOILER="TEXT" within these [] and at the end /SPOILER with those.
But no, if you were to boost in the air the main purpose of escape becomes useless, making it for only speed. And a glider is not really needed, although nice in other games, not in wynncraft.

I really don't see why everyone is against a faster method of traveling but ok...

with escape you already sort of "glide" downwards

and if you look the other way and cast escape it can boost you forward which already is pretty fast and efficient for traveling

Travel and exploration not only makes the game more fun, it exposes you to areas you are likely to come back to, and allows you to see the amazing world built around you. Numerous methods of fast travel exist, such as horses, boats, and the sea skipper, along with hot air balloons and airships at later levels.
A glider would not only take the fun out of some travel, it would also be difficult to implement on some classes, as many mobility spells don't launch people upward.

The method is broken, that's why. It's glitchy, abusable and just problematic
