Alright, so it all started when Imax made his first quest wher ethere is a concept of other players like you with dialogues, right? And this was probably the best quest to be added. Anyhow,

Imax thought he might do the same thing for the envoy part 1 & 2, and it was boring, but not that bad because the dialogue was kind of good.

But then a GM took it to the next level. They scrapped the old Out of my Mind (Actually fun quest) and turned it into a 10 hour walk with boring ass dialogues that no one wanted to read in the first place, and an NPC saying "Dont run ahead, I dont want you to get lost"

What the actual fuck!? You cant get lost, you just walk strait! And at the end of the 20 minutes of walking we get a puzzle that took half a minute, wasnt all that fun, and the quest is boring. And I didnt even know what Im suppose to do because I didnt read the 11 dialogues from the kids at the start of the quest. Why? Because it is so danm boring.

They have a name you know, @Nattea , if you're going to criticize something you should probably let the person who did it know.

So you blame the quest for confusing you when you decided to skip the fucking dialogue that was made to help you? I don't see how that works. There's criticism and then there's just sounding like an ass using hyperbolic statements to "prove" your point.

I liked it personally, and I'd enjoy more quests with this.

The point is players get tired and bored of long dialogues

Im not saying the quest is confusing for feedback, which is easy to nfigure out if you look at the title

Okay so, strap in this is going to be a long one.

Out of my Mind has had a very mixed development time because of many factors that would usually not get to see the light of day, but here we are to explain why some things happen and some don't.

Back about five months ago, the thought process started and it was going great. Ideas were had and enthusiasm was in the air. However one major issue arose: Waiting.
"Waiting?", you may ask, how could that possibly be so bad? Well the first major roadblock was when I realised that a lot of what I had envisioned was not possible with the then current code. We couldn't even do guided tours because so much was broken! During a wait of about 3 months, a lot changed because of feedback from various people in the content team.
This led to *4* reworks of the mini-game section. Some took over a month only to be scrapped because they were too much. In the end, we were satisfied enough with the puzzle we ended up with, as it was: the least confusing of the 4; the one that felt most interesting and finally, the one that really worked. Maybe you'll see some of this content elsewhere in the future, who knows? The gist of what I'm saying is that a lot of work was done on the quest that will never see the light of day and because the minigame idea kept changing there wasn't enough time to develop it.

Okay, enough storytime. Time to tackle your points a bit more.

If you find the old quest fun, you must be out of your mind. There are opinions and preferences, but if you found the new one boring, the old one should have been equally as or more boring than the new one. It was extremely generic dialogue in between walking between two points only to fight a laughably generic boss. That aside, a bit more focus on the dialogue:

Saying the dialogue is boring or that no one wants to read it is just opinion for the most part. Some people are really into the stories and lore of characters and such, while you must prefer gameplay over anything else, which is fine. However completely ignoring dialogue and calling it boring without reading it is a bit absurd. How can you tell it's boring? To create a story that made sense I added the tour to give some context to everything rather than introducing a new character with no personality for the sake of doing so. I tried my best to make the dialogue interesting to create a narrative for the quest and characters (as in fleshing them out) so that the quest has a more coherent structure and consistent story with characters a tad bit different from the usual plain porridge that is dialogue in some quests. It's not my fault that you want to skip ahead to the meaty gameplay stuff when there are many quests that do that. A fair mix is needed to make both parties happy. Don't fault something because of your own pre-conceived notions of something.

I am not saying the quest is perfect by any means, I mean, I would change a fair bit now that the script system is more fleshed out, but sometimes it happens and quests aren't the greatest. Positive or negative, I take all points I have been given about the quest and want to apply them in the future when I can so that over time I can fix flaws with the things I make. Eventually I'll come out with a quest (or another gm) that tops all their other ones because of the experience they have gained making quests over time.

(The message spam is bad and is a quick fix, so don't fret. Hopefully there will be a push soon to fix it)

In case you found this post to be "boring-ass" then here's a tl;dr:

Dev process was wonky because of internal code, quest didn't turn out the best. All valid points taken, positive or negative, will try and make use of them in the future. Lastly, don't complain dialogue if you haven't even read it.

-Natty, sorry about talking about the quest for far too long again.

But now, peoples who discover Gyran will don't understand anything of his story since the old quest is done, or at least they will miss a bit. ._.

"But they can check Forum/Wiki !"

... The major point of exploring, is to be able to find things to create our own stories, you don't create stories by reading things that you don't live.

How can you actually trust something written, if you can't see it from your own eyes. That's how Siegfried work.

The old lab still exists and is still part of the lore. Exploring shows you that. It's canonically his old place of work. As I sorta mentioned originally, it was difficult to portray the message visually outside of dialogue without a lot of shiny tools that weren't available at the time, hence dialogue. Hopefully the dialogue was good enough to do it ;p

From my point of view it still destroy the lore since the boss we fight was born from the same type of experiment as Gyran...

I think he means that we don't really get to learn any backstory to Ariodo's experiments. Like, the bosses are THERE, but without background knowledge all you can tell about Ariodo is that he is a weird scientist of some sort.

Although there was no description of what specific science he did, there was that one thing that fell on the players head, causing the player to have their soul separated from their body - just like his science of soul/body separation. So props for that. Tbh this felt like a time when he would still be developing mind-body separation tho.

Ariodo does seem to be hiding how much he knows, just look at the books mentioned in the tour! Perhaps he knows what works to get you back because of previous experiments and doesn't want to say? Who knows.

So in some sort, it confirm what we said, new players will never discover the real lore by themselves, they will have to go read the wiki.

It's like you buy Breath Of The Wild but when you search the 900 "gold shit" (Sorry don't know the name in english) you find 850 if them by using Internet.
That's quite useless and you can't be proud of yourself.
This is killing the exploration and the thinking.
