World Lost My Things Again - Fix Cities?

So, it's happened twice now... I've lost my things either due to a player bringing a mob into the city of Rodoroc or an elven trader turning on me for no reason. It is quite discouraging to come back after having been AFK for a while just to see that you've lost your items. Evidence: http://imgur.com/a/Vlt1u.

To fix this issue I have a simple proposal. Why don't you give respawned players invincibility until they move? This would be a simple solution to PMI and neutral mobs turning on you.

 

1.9+ allows people to push other people so idk if that'd work

 

If you want to safely AFK, just do /class, sure, the game doesn't tell you this, but it works.

 

I am aware of this, but often I forget to do so. Also, this is a trick not a lot of new players know about.

 

Until they move? I get kicked for flying if i lag too much while logging in, so that solution won't work i bet

 

You can actually fix this in spigot. There is a setCollision function.

1. this is another great reason why I dont play in 1,9+ but in 1,8,9
2. afk in /class or in a spot where you are 100% sure mobs will NOT get to you, example: in rodoroc you can climb up a ladder behind the liquid merchant and theres a tiny room there with a bed, I afk next to the bed, mobs will definitely never get there

 

That works as well, but it could still be a problem if it's a neutral mob which turns on you.

The most logical fix would be to have guards that actually kill mobs, yet drop no emeralds or gear.

Basically, just make the old Iron Golems from Almuj's labyrinth and put 'em in cities.

 

ezpz assassin with depressing daggers uses multihit to bring mobs to you then uses vanish and grabs popcorn to watch you get shredded
