I don't really think that this is a good idea. I have a level 93 and a level 100, and while I haven't spent as much time on here as some people (you know who you are), I would not want to re-do all 117 quests a third time. This is because I have a near perfect memory and recollection of where everything is and I know the answer to almost every not out of the way puzzle, so resetting would just cause a lot of rage, and wouldn't even fix the economy.

 

I don't want the global reset to happen, but for sure would vote YES for the 'prestige system'. I have some ideas for that too, but they are kind of disbalancing, so no use to share them. Just saying that the 'character reset' feature, with some additions that would in theory actually make players decide to reset, should be a thing to look into.

Well it shouldn't be just resetting, then it would be the same as creating a new class. It should give some 'rewards' to make ppl who reset feel special and brag about it on forums and actually do the resets. I don't know, cosmetic rewards, tags, some features that are cool to have idk. I thought of a slight stat boost but it would be imbalanced. Like if each reset you get 2 extra stats to add at your level 1, so 10 resets = 20 stats in the beggining. Overpowered? Yes. But just think how much time you would need to achieve that. I'm not suggesting this, this is just an example, example of something that would make people level up and actually do the resets.

 

So, the more you play, more you kick the ass of the new players ? Yeah... Why not...

No seriously, this is a terrible idea from my point of view...

 

I wasn't talking about it as of an idea, just couldn't find something better to set off as an example, this shouldn't be ever added because it will break not only the players, but also the items balance.
The point of what I said was, if the character reset system finds a use, there should be something that will interest the players in using it, simply

 

When you reached level 101 with 10 classes, I doubt you have done everything possible in Wynn, and actually if peoples have nothing to do there is still a lot to discover, today someone discovered that an area was updated, there is some Community Event still going on like the Talking Mushroom one, if people find nothing to do, it's because they play alone and that they don't try to find something to do, let your mind be free and explore the world. (I don't say that you don't do that, I just say that because I know a lot of peoples act like that.)

While I do think the economy is broken this is not a good idea I would probably quit if this happened becauseall my hard work of builds and leveling would be gone.

And pretty much no one else wants it to reset, no matter how much you want it it's not happening. You could change the context of this whole thread and it's replies into a housing suggestion and the general opinion will be the same.

Is this thread going to get locked anytime soon? Because it seems that pretty much everyone has stated their opinion and the replies have transitioned into different ways of saying no.

Dungeon realms didn't restart; it shut down for many reasons. And most certainly NOT from a suggestion like this

While i understand your suggestion, i truly think this would be a big step backward for us. There are other ways to "fix the economy" (your proposal would just restart the clock and not actually fix anything) or maintain interest in the game, those would involve adding content, features and creativity to the game while ensuring players would face new challenges (i like the idea of having a prestige tier personally, but i don't think we are there just yet).
A reset would be like saying we gave up on achieving our goals, we gave up on the community, everything has gone badly and we aren't good enough to do anything about it, which would be a really poor message to send you guys. Mostly because it isn't true. We are working night and day to bring new content into the game, of course it takes time, but if you hang on just enough, you will see that those issues will be resolved in the foreseeable future.
It's like a game of chess, you don't mindlessly throw everything into the game as it starts, it takes careful steps to ensure you are moving forward toward victory.
