Allowing Movement During Quest Dialogue.

In many of the new quests, the player character is pinned for cinematic effect during certain parts of the quest line.

Now this seems all fine and dandy, until you accidentally hit Q and drop your legendary bow onto the ground. A mere 10 metres below your player character, which is pinned in midair, watching a tiny quest NPC rant away about the meaning of Craftmas while your best weapon lies on the floor.

You spam left clicks, trying somehow to move, but every attempt at movement is blocked by an invisible force field. All you can do is stare at that NPC, which is getting more annoying by the second.

The wait is excruciating. The dialogue has 13 lines, which cannot be quickened by spam clicking on the quest NPC. You pray and pray for him not to teleport you to some foreign land, for your beautiful bow to not be despawned, for you to be given the slightest of chances of collecting it.

But no luck. He teleports you away, and despair fills your soul as Santa makes it snow right on top of your head, laughing joyfully. You obtain 15000 experience points, two EB, and a pair of stinky boots.

Alas, what a Meaningful Holiday you had. Except that it wasn't a holiday. And all you learned was the meaning of not being fat-fingered.

And so I would like to recommend three solutions to the above problem.

1: Allow us an unstuck command.

2: Allow us a setting to remove cinematic mode, and move around beating up random mobs while the quest NPC rants on, like it was in the old days.

3: G̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶b̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶F̶i̶s̶s̶u̶r̶e̶.̶

3: Remove the ability for players to interact with their characters during cinematics. Also, give us the ability to speed through dialogue when we can't smash the NPCs with our clicks.

4: I̶'̶m̶ ̶6̶ ̶h̶o̶u̶r̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶r̶i̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶n̶e̶w̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶n̶o̶ ̶l̶u̶c̶k̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶y̶e̶t̶.̶

It's just a fissure
And cutscenes use barrier boxes; how did you loose your item below?

 

For some reason I found this story funny the way you put it but an item lock system has been suggested to be added so things like his don't happen.

If you do want this to be sure it never happens again, you can download wynn enhanced that has that thing.

 

I noclipped out of the box somehow. Landed on the ground. Was confused. Accidentally Qed because I thought I wasn't actually frozen and was pressing W to move to the NPC and get the dialogue done and over with. Was still frozen. Got put back in the box. Proceeded to crap myself. Watched as my beautiful bow got sent to the nether realm. Rushed back after with a scroll and stuff... but the world unloaded when I left. Rip.

Also I had to sit through the dialogue a second time as I left the world again after losing my Fissure. Way to relive 10 seconds of my utter stupidity.

Just a fissure!? B-bro. I farmed for hours for it. ~.~ just stopped farming to post this.

I was just... eh... describing how it felt as I traded 2 EB for my best bow. Like god I know it's my fault but that's some real punishment there

be glad you didnt lose your entire set of gear like some players have

rip the players who have lost entire armour sets. I can't imagine how that could happen. You're talking to a player who's net worth is 3 LE though. And on my first playthrough of my Archer. Show some mercy with your noveau riche sensibilities please T.T

Shit, and here I thought legendaries were the best stuff ever. I'd only get 1-2 per hour of farming mobs.

I just assumed it was a bow because of Eruption

 

You need [Number] [Skill] points for use [Item]

 

This is something I thought too. If not all cutscenes do this yet, then this is also the simplest fix.

 

Or loosing all soul points

 

hmm yeah, it was the Eruption. No idea how I mixed that up. Possibly because I'm still thinking of the legendary hammer I've just sold off.

Anyways, thanks for all the attention. I'll be back to grinding. Just hoping they'll get to fixing this some time into the future.
