Tomes! (consumable Spells) {50 Supporters}

Okay, so I've had this sitting on my desktop for almost 3 weeks, and it's time to actually use it.

What I have here are tomes. If you didn't read the title, then these are consumable spells that you can find in loot chests. These tomes have 5 Tiers, which gauge their stats and rarity. To use a tome, you right-click while it's selected in your hotbar. There are a variety of tomes, some being our well-known class spells, and others being a branch-off of them, and even a few combos! Keep in mind, though: I haven't actually made every single spell. If I need to, then just tell me. That aside, here are the ones I've made so far:

Onto the details...
Like I said earlier, tomes can only be found in loot chests. Due to their strength, they are fairly rare. Listed below are the percentage chances of finding them:
Tier 1: 7.5% in all loot chests
Tier 2: 5% in all loot chests
Tier 3: 10% in Tier 3 & 4 loot chests
Tier 4: 5% in Tier 3 & 4 loot chests
Tier 5: 0.5% in Tier 3 & 4 loot chests

To keep low leveled players from using high level spells, they have level requirements, based on the tier. Each tier covers 20 levels (except tier 5.)
Tier 1: Levels 1-20
Tier 2: Levels 21-40
Tier 3: Levels 41-60
Tier 4: Levels 61-80
Tier 5: Levels 81-95

Tomes also have Incantations. An Incantation is a buffer time for the spell to activate. If you switch off of the tome in your hotbar or take damage, the Incantation will reset. This also acts as a sort of confirmation in case you accidentally activate your scroll.

There is also a way to upgrade the tome tier. This increases its effect, but also level requirements and mana cost. To upgrade a tome, you must visit the Enchanter, an NPC found in major cities. When right-clicked, a GUI will appear like this:

Starting from the left, the red clay is used to exit the GUI. The powder slots are where you insert powders with the same tier as the tome you're upgrading to (Ex. Use Tier 4 powders to get a Tier 4 tome). The type of powder depends on the elements contained within the tome. Fireball would require Red Powders, while Gale Force requires White Powders. The upmost paper is where you place the tome you wish to upgrade. The diamond is just being used as an arrow pointing down. The bottommost paper is the tome you receive from upgrading, and the green clay is to initiate the upgrade. Most tomes will be in all Tiers, but a few won't be upgradeable. For example, Hellfire is the Tier V version of Fireball, a Tier I tome.

I really like this, +1 support. But I would like to point out that almuj isn't considered a major city, you should change it to troms.

Ok why dont you just show us the stats for the levels, i see that there is lvl 1-3 so im guessing you lvl up your scrolls the same way as horses? or you buy them, and are you saying lvl 96 people and up cant find any scrolls at all in chests? aswell as, i dont like the way its 500, 100, damage etc, it should be like 100%, 500%, and whatnot, depending on the ability of your last weapon used, plus there should be some scrolls, for just some classes.

 

I'm working on the tier system now, and it includes powders (Woo). About the levels: No. Anyone can find scrolls, the levels are just required to use the scroll. The max being level 95 means that there won't be a level requirement above level 95. Of course, that can change. And like I stated, I'm glad to make changes, which I'm am, it just takes a bit longer than normal because I'm using formatting. Just remember this is pretty much in beta satge right now; It's rough, and I'm still working on it.

if consumable spells are added, im gonna make a class, that only uses them, and the travelling spell for the class.

I like this idea but why not ToL and Armsord can add some scroll ideas

 

The main question you should ask is, "Do I see myself by using these in the future?" While they are cool, it is still an inventory space that can have another item in it.

 

This is the best money sink that will cause inflation ever

It is a good question, and one that I asked myself to start up this idea. I've seen several people complain about one class having spells and such that another does not. This would solve the problem by giving each player access to certain spells.

 

Added the Incantation to slightly nerf and add a sort of confirmation.

This was a while back, but a good point. Let me know if I should change the name to Tomes (Enchanted Books instead of paper).
