In my opinion, Wynncraft combat, while fun, is also boring sometimes (especially when grinding). When you only have access to four spells as a mage while everyone else has four spells, it doesn't make you feel like a master of magic. It's also disappointing how you can't backstab as an assassin, block as a warrior, or charge your bow as an Archer. I think that allowing these classes to do those things would make for much more interesting gameplay, especially in duels.

How would they do this? Well, by utilizing Shift. I know that Wynncraft can already tell when a player is shifting, thank to the short-cuts for trading and Dueling. So, I think that when the player holds the shift button, they should have access to other options.

For example, if a Mage is crouching/using the shift button, the Mage should get access to more spells. These spells would be different from the default mage spells as these are significantly more powerful than the normal Mage spells. To counteract this, the spells may have to be learnt (preferably on Mage Island), or have a 20 minute delay between each use (perhaps similar to the "delete" timers, as it may be that the timers are usually limited server-to-server).

Now, we can have the archer's new ability: charging. While crouching, an archer can hold a bow, and then it would do more damage once shot. This may allow for something similar to "sniping" in a PVP battle. To counteract this, if the shot is too close to the target (say, 20 block radius) then the shot automatically misses. It also can't be activated immediately (taking time to charge), unlike the Mage's new ability.

Next, we have the assassin, who can kill anyone while crouching with this suggestion. This ability may seem overpowered, but this only works if the target is facing the back. Otherwise, there's only a little bit more damage than usual. I don't know how this can be done in game, so if that's not possible, then the assassin would have to be invisible in order to deal WAY more damage (or not get the attention of a mob; if it's a duel, then invisibility would be more doable).

Finally is the warrior, who can block damage. This is not just limited to melee attacks, either; it also includes AOE attacks. How would this *not* be over powered? The warrior can only use this ability after a 2 minute and 30 second delay. This way, a warrior wouldn't absorb all the damage he receives, just the damage he's able to actually block.

I am fully open to suggestions and am willing to change this thread if necessary.

using shift in combat is already a thing... powders IV+ beat you to that. You are gonna need something else to activate these powers

Huh. Point taken. Perhaps a different weapon? Or maybe there would be two "modes" for a player, normal combat and special combat (changed with an item?) that may account for this. However, I don't know what to use instead of the shift key.

oh oops I meant *charge bows. What I mean is how a bow in Minecraft works: by holding right click, you pull the bow back. Then you release, realeasing a more powerful attack with better damage. That's what I meant by that.

While more combat elements would be interesting, this thread falls short by a long shot.

Shift is already used for ultimates. No.
"More spells" isn't possible. There are only four combinations. They also bear a striking resemblance to ultimates. While it would be nice to having something similar, no.
There was a reason that bow-charging was removed. While I don't recall it by heart, there were issues and it can't be done. No.
Ridiculously overpowered and easy to abuse. Never.
This isn't very useful. Blocking a single hit wouldn't ever really have much use, while being able to constantly block would be overpowered as all hell. Essentially, the concept is flawed. No.

TL;DR the concept of improving combat in Wynn is good, but this suggestion doesn't do it justice. These ideas are all flawed, either unachievable or otherwise.

That's definitely my entire suggestion, obviously. I'm not really good at balancing differing abilities, as I'm VERY new to game development in general. So, yeah, I do agree with that.

While the general core of the suggestion is good, your ideas are flawed. Ganon summed it up pretty much, this might have given me an idea though.

It's to stretch the bow back farther.
Still doesn't make sense, but ya.
