Website & Forums Additional Shoutbox Features For Vip/vip+/hero

Alright, so I learned quite a bit ago that the Shoutbox (Taigachat) has options such as the ability to edit and remove messages, smiley picker, custom colors, etc. I was thinking that perhaps people who bought a rank should have the ability to do these things.

VIP:
Smiley Picker
Chat Formatting (Bold, Italicize, strike-through)*

VIP+:
Perks of VIP
Chat Color*
Ability to insert images (?)

Hero:
Perks of VIP+ and VIP
Ability to edit and remove your own messages (Yes, I know that this was removed before due to abuse, but can we try again?)
Ability to insert images (?)

I'm not sure if this is allowed under EULA, so forgive me if this is impossible.

*Color and formatting might lead to people misusing it, so I will leave it up to the staff to implement this.

 

I seem to recall a mod saying that there are no colors/formatting in SB because it would get confusing, or new players could be tricked into giving away information because someone with fancy chat colors said they were the owner, or something along those lines. I do agree with the smiley thing, though; I'd like to see how Bloww likes SB being bombarded by faces and stuff.

While the suggestion is fine for the most part, having colours would make the shoutbox the equivalent of tripping balls.

Apart from that, editing and removing messages never worked, and probably never will. It's not the worst idea, since it's Hero-only, but it's still on the fence.

Something different for VIP+ or Hero would be good to look into; perhaps there are more shoutbox commands on Xenforo?

 

Taigachat is the plugin that handles the chat. The Admins would have to modify the plugin to add more commands.

 

Taigachat is an add-on for Xenforo. Fairly certain there's xenforo add-ons that also affect taigachat. It's possible I'm mistaken, though.

At the very least, having the ability to insert images for either Hero or VIP+ could be added. Worst comes to worst, a new rule is added as to stop spam or otherwise inappropriate images.
