Okay time for critisism:
1. How to obtain: This is good, but instead of point one saying: You get to a certain level, it could say: Get to level [X] to use it. I also think you should get an elytra at a high level quest. Not repeatable, which could be a big problem. Fireworks could be gotten by the merchant, or not at all. Also it says "unbreakable". Maybe you should go to another merchant to repair your elytra. This would balance it slightly.

2. How it works: Working the same as a regular elytra is not a bad idea. Re-texturing it all the same. Fireworks would make it a bit strong so consider removing it. That would balance this out way more! Disabling it is also a good idea. Maybe at a certain level, as mentioned above. The Unbreakable part is a bit op. Consider removing it and adding durability.

3. Positives: Yes, I agree with 2 points. Flying with elytra is sweet. But the argument "not op" is not true. With elytra and fireworks, it would be op. Without fireworks it would be not very op. Still flying is very, very strong. The 3rd point I also kind of agree with. You get enough rewards for sticking around. You interact more with the community and get better items. The 4th point, doesn't really help as a positive. Making an elytra would make about 2% of people happy. More would be happy with actual content, like Corkus. Making an elytra will take time away from this.

4. Negatives: Point 1 is a really strong negative. As said above, fixing this takes time away from content. It would be fixable still, though. Point 2 is also a good negative. Bugs = have to be fixed = time away from content.

5. The conclusion: There is stuff wrong with this thread, but no threads are perfect. Take some of the fixes above to make it a more appealing suggestion. Also you should add more detail. That will make it a better thread.

 

Yes sure it's nice she addressed her opinion on all of my points but she didn't have to be so harsh.

Which is why you would receive it late in the story, you know after you've explored everything?

What do you mean she? And it wasn't that harsh either. And what @DutchSpruceRun said, there can be exploreble content in later updates, you also can't explore little things like caves with this you'll just skip things + there is a hight limit with barrier blocks so you can't climb over mountains so this won't work.

 

I'm just waiting for a stinger archer to use an aerial strike on everyone in the nether. Yeah, happiness is the exact word that comes to mind.

They could make a barrier block roof and I did say it could be disabled in places like caves perhaps.

Having flight is extremely powerful. In addition, combine it with movement spells like Charge or Vanish which give a slight upward boost when casted, and you've got a recipe for infinite flight. There's entirely too much to stipulate on and change to make it particularly useful or fun, I feel, so my vote is fully against this.

I was talking about exploring, if you just fly high above the landscape you will miss all small details in the landscape and I gave caves as an example.

I wouldnt say that. Bubbles answered most points objectively with good responses, and when he didn't, it was because those points were ridiculous. A lot of forums veterans have seen too many of these elytra suggestions, so things like "not op" makes us laugh.

As for the rest of this, I don't think bubbles was harsh. As for late in game, I find that one of the things I love when there's nothing left to do is go exploring. There is unbelievable detail, and there's tons of stuff I haven't seen or done, and I have nearly 3 level 100s.

And your comment about better criticism doesn't make sense, bubbles was shooting down your idea because it's been suggested before and the answer has always been NO. And it's not like they gave no reasons. Saying someone's comment is better because they agree with you doesn't make sense

I imagined flying to be used for travel and fun not for scouting out caves. I also said at a late level which I admit I should of said late quest instead meaning you would probably have explored everything at that point. I also think it would be easier to find things from a birds eye view.

I saw bubbles as harsh because he/she made me out to be a joke which I imagine is harsh. I also thought it wouldn't be op because it would of been an end game item and it would be expensive.

Yeah I get that I lost the reason it's still open is because I didn't realise till now that I had the power to close it.

Now lady's and gentlemen I get it was clearly a bad suggestion I just thought you would like my suggestion. I admit I am new to this forum and the reason behind me not finding any threads relating to elytra is probably because of that but maybe some of you could also learn from this as some of you I felt was too harsh and upset me a bit. If you are against someone's opinion you should try replying nicely because making someone's opinion out to be a joke I felt as being too harsh. If you have trouble being nice follow yornthegamer as an example.

If you really want to make a suggestion, you need to be able to accept criticism. Some people may be harsh, and I learned the hard way that a suggestion has to be PERFECT. No flaws. Some people criticise harshly, and you have to live with it. You're not the bad person, the suggestion is bad, not you. Ask a mod to lock this thread, if you truly want to close it.

 

It wasn't criticism I had a problem with, it's how harsh some of the criticism was that was the problem. Most of the criticism was making a joke out my opinion which you might imagine upset me. Now I have made a lot of threads on other websites before but this is the first one that was harsh with me which is what surprised me. I agree that I have to make sure that my suggestion needs to be perfect before posting another suggestion, I know that now thank you. I will try to find a mod to lock this thread now thanks for you words.
