    If you ever played Wynncraft before Gavel was released, you may know that when you used a spell and had the life steal ID, you'd possibly gain HP from using that spell.
    About a month or so after Gavel was released, life steal received a major nerf. Spells were no longer affected by life steal and the only way to use it now is to melee hit.
    Since then life steal isn't very used or valued anymore. Many believed life steal received too big of a nerf.

    I have two different, relatively simple solutions to MAKE LIFE STEAL GREAT AGAINN!!! (but also balanced)

    1. Make it so that when life steal is gained through spells, reduce the received hp (by I'd say 50% or maybe even 75%, idk, just let the content team figure it out). For example, if I'm wearing a Soulflare (250 lifesteal Chestplate), I'll still receive 250 hp from Melee hits but I'll be getting 125 hp from spells.

    2. Have a preset chance of life steal taking effect for each spell. Here's some examples.
    Spin attack - 35% chance per hit of taking effect
    Meteor spell - 50% chance per hit of taking effect
    Smoke bomb - 30% chance per hit of taking effect
    Uppercut - 40% chance per hit of taking effect
    Arrow bomb - 45% chance per hit of taking effect
    Multi-hit - 25% chance per hit of taking effect

    What are your thoughts?

    Los, my friend, you're back to quality threads. This is a useful, yet balanced, change to a feature that essentially got bulldozed by nerfs.

    Both solutions are good, but the second one still has a few easily manageable issues.

    Mainly, the way life-steal is triggered should probably be the opposite of what it is right now. Currently, Multi-Hit has a 50% chance every hit, and it has a lot of those. It should be changed so that single-hit spells have a higher chance, and spells with multiple hits have lower chances, as to properly balance the spells.

    After all, we don't want the ol' instant-full-health multi-hit of the old days

    All said and done, quality suggestion that just needs a few tweaks.

    Multihit would be far too op, and would allow assassins to play the hit n run style FOREVER. Meteor is good, smoke bomb is likewise too op, everything else is good.

    Life Steal should have a 1/8 chance to activate for each mob per spell, multiple hits of a spell should mean nothing to the chance, only the amount of mobs.
    Why it should be so low is I assume that a spell on average can be cast in 1/2 a second, and life steal should activate once every 4 seconds per mob. With that I concluded that you can cast a spell 8 times in the 4 seconds and it should apply for every mob you hit with that spell.
    Also you have to think of the how helpless mobs become in certain spells

    I used to run arrow storm archer with life/mana steal with poison build.
    It was really strong, and the plus side is that I didn't have to buy potions.

    I was really disapointed when I learned that lifesteal became essentially useless.
    I hated that it was percent chance, and you don't know when it is going to trigger and heal you.

    Since then I changed to hybrid health with high mana regen/some health regen build
    Money is still an issue for me, as I can't really afford to buy potions

    The thing is that this mechanic would then destroy Knucklebones' use as an item except for loot running. (Currently Knucklebones is thrown onto spell-spam builds with negative exploding, which works perfectly if you never use melee.)

    Look, the only problem with life steal is that it makes spells like Multi-hit, Smoke Bomb or War Scream (spells that hit a mutlitude of times) abusable. Another solution that comes to mind is only triggering life steal on the first (or last) hit of the spell.

    If you read solution 2 you'd know those problems you said would easily be fixed.
    You just need to find the most balanced percentage to set the spell at so it's not abusable nor absolutely useless

    Knucklebones' gimmick is that you have to be very lucky to not suffer from its extreme power boosts. Note that its damage boosts are primarily for MELEE, which activates life/mana steal. It'd work even better if spells could activate life/mana steal.
