World Make The Beetle Den A Boss Altar!

During the quest titles "The Ultimate Weapon", Dodegar sends you to find 100 royal bug blood at
X -642 Y 47 Z -4735.

I believe this would make a perfect boss altar! It has everything!

1. The Look: It totally looks like a boss altar could fit snug right into those ruins. The hopper part of a boss altar is usually 3x3, these ruins can fit that.

2. The Drop: These Royal bugs drop Royal bug blood. My suggestion is we change their drops to regular bug blood or mashed insect. This bug/insect mash could be the mob drop needed to activate the boss altar!

3. The Ultimate Weapon: This would perfectly fit "The Ultimate Weapon" quest. It would be a satisfying conclusion to this rather grindey quest. After grinding for wood scraps, gollier iron, and whet stone, you can finish this quest with an interesting boss altar! Boss altars have been used for quests before as well (See The Passage).

Lastly, my ideas for the boss altar

4. Boss Altar name: The Beetle Burrow
5. Boss: The Queen Beetle
6. Dialogue: [1/1] Queen Beetle: You insular pest! I will teach you for disturbing my nest!
7. Drops (Names and Type)
- Azure Staff (Wand)
- Pronutum (Chestplate)
- Sacred Mandible (Dagger)

Im not good enough to do boss altars yet so im on a maybe side :3

 

The issue with that, is that The Ultimate Weapon's entire point is to be a parody of quests that just make you grind a ton of random items, so removing a section of that would mess with it.

 

You sure you know what insular means? It's not exactly fitting in the context.

Why change the drop from Royal Bug Blood?

The idea behind the suggestion is decent, but a boss altar doesn't really fit with the location. The light forest just doesn't seem right for such a place. Lastly, the quest used for the idea isn't the best, since it's essentially a parody of fetch quests being long and boring with little reward.

 

Actually, insular could work since one definition is "being narrow minded and not understanding towards other cultures", which in this case are the beetles. But I see your point, since another definition is an island/ being stranded in an isolated area.

 

One definition works, though sort of awkwardly; I'm just pretty sure he meant "insolent"

 

Or they looked up synonyms for narrow-minded

 

The ultimate weapon was purposely made so that people never ever wanted to do the quest?

 

I would prefer an extension to the mantis area containing a boss altar. Always liked those mobs.
