Website & Forums Necropost Pre-warning [40+ Supporters | 1 Opposed]

On another XenForo forum I frequent, there is an automatic warning attached to the section to reply, if the last post is older than a specific amount,


which in that case it was set to 1 month, and if it is over that 1 month period it simply states how old it is (4 months there).

To help prevent necroposting, I think it might be useful to add something like that to this forum with a setting of 1 month and older, for the warning to appear in the reply section.

Alternatively, if it's possible, maybe threads could automatically lock after a 1 month period of inactivity, but I'm not sure how that'd be done.

 

This warning thing sounds really useful. And we used to have a feature where threads automatically locked after a month or so.

 

i think threads should just auto-lock after thirty days of inactivity if they're not stickied.

that warning would fit better if we allowed necroposting, but we don't, so it's better to just auto-lock em

 

In the trade market, it autolocks year old threads I believe (unless some mod constantly locks year old threads), so having it lock month old threads seems entirely possible

Actually forget auto lock, most of my threads have been necro'd so many times it would be a pain in the ass to get a mod to unlock it each time
