So this was a quest I came up with, feel free to throw me some criticism!
Before I get started, here's how I mark stuff.
Bold: My thoughts/what's happening in game/quest book stuff.
This color is the player's thoughts.
This color is the NPC talking.

    The Emerald Debacle
    Level 59

Talk to Arred at {Coordinates} in Troms. (Step 1)

If you talk to him when your level isn't high enough:
[1/2] Arred: Where is it... Huh? Oh, a human! Didn't notice you sneaking up on me.
[2/2] Arred: Actually, I might need your help... Wait, never mind, you aren't level 59 yet. Come back later!

If you talk to him when you can start the quest:
[1/6] Arred: Where is it... Huh? Oh, a human! Didn't notice you sneaking up on me.
[2/6] Arred: Say... I could actually use your help! So, here's the deal.
[3/6] Arred: This morning, I had one Liquified Emerald on my counter. This afternoon, I came back, and it was gone!
[4/6] Arred: I'm pretty sure someone stole it, so I need you to find them.
[5/6] Arred: My friend Mendo usually knows what's up, you should go to him first.
[6/6] Arred: Here, I'll write down his coordinates in your quest book.

    [Quest Book Updated]

If you talk to him after this:
[1/1] Arred: Didn't you hear me? My friend Mendo will know where the thief is. Go talk to him!

Talk to Mendo at {Coordinates} in Troms. (Step 2)

If you talk to him before this step:

[1/1] Mendo: It's a fine day, isn't it. Thieves going around, stealing stuff... You know, the usual.

If you talk to him during this step:
[1/3] Mendo: It's a fine day, isn't it. What? Someone stole Arred's Liquified Emerald? Huh, so that's what the thief had.
[2/3] Mendo: Yeah, I saw them. They were headed toward the Jungle Slime Inn.
[3/3] Mendo: Chances are, they're still there. You can probably catch them and get his Liquified Emerald back.

    [Quest Book Updated]

If you talk to him after this step:
[1/1] Mendo: So, how's your search going? You caught the thieves yet?

If you talk to him after finishing the quest:
[1/1] Mendo: Hey, good on you for helping Arred get his Liquified Emerald back. You're a real nice person!

Investigate the Jungle Slime Inn. (Step 3)

This is one of those things where you walk around a room and you hear people talking. This is in an area that could be created for this quest, a basement below the Jungle Slime Inn.

If you try to enter before this step:

The basement looks dangerous; you probably shouldn't enter.

If you try to enter during this step:
[1/6] ???: How's the plan coming along, Angar? You've been given enough time to do it.
[2/6] Angar: It's going well, Ethelthor. We have successfully stolen the artifact from that fool Arred. He doesn't even know we stole it!
[3/6] Ethelthor: Good. We can now focus our attention on phase two. Speaking of which, you're sure you only took the artifact?
[4/6] Angar: Err... Yes, sir. We only took the device. Absolutely nothing else.
[5/6] Ethelthor: Perfect. If you HAD taken something, that fool would know we stole the artifact. Don't dawdle, Angar, we need to continue with phase two.
    [6/6] Angar: Y-yes sir... *gulp*

    [Quest Book Updated]

If you try to enter after this step, it teleports you to the area where step 6 puts you.

    Interrogate Angar. (Step 4)

There is no way to talk to him before this step.

If you talk to him during this step:

[1/3] Angar: Ugh, I shouldn't have taken that stupid Liquified Emerald... Gah! Who are you?
[2/3] Angar: I don't have the artifact anymore! Huh? You want his Liquified Emerald?
[3/3] Angar: Take it! It's better if Ethelthor doesn't find it on me.

    [Quest Book Updated]

If you talk to him after this step:
[1/1] Angar: I said go! Give Arred his Liquified Emerald back already!

Return to Arred and give him his Liquified Emerald. (Step 5)

If you talk to him during this step:
[1/5] Arred: Oh, hey there human! How goes the search? Oh, you found them?
You hand Arred his Liquified Emerald.
[2/5] Arred: Thanks! Well, I guess it's time I pay you for your hard work- Wait, what?
[3/5] Arred: He was talking about "the artifact"? Oh no, this is bad. I didn't think to look if anything else was stolen...
[4/5] Arred: The artifact in question is called "The Demon's Sacrifice". If used properly, it can cause unimaginable amounts of havoc.
[5/5] Arred: Quick! This is urgent! Go and find out where it is!

    [Quest Book Updated]

If you talk to him after this step:
[1/1] Arred: Quick! Go get that artifact! This could be the difference between life or death!

Investigate the basement of the Jungle Slime Inn. (Step 6)

Inside the room you will find an entity:

    Evil Plans
    Lvl. 50
    Health: 10
    Damage: 0
    AI: None
    Attack Type: None
    Movement Speed: None
    Spawn Rate: High
    Drop: 1 [Evil Plans] (High)

The Evil Plans item is a quest item, that is a map that shows this image:

    When you kill the entity:
    [Quest Book Updated]

Talk to Ethelthor at the bottom of The Great Bridge. (Step 7)

If you talk to him before this step:
[1/1] Ethelthor: A human? Bah! You can't stop us!

If you talk to him during this step:
[1/7] Ethelthor: A human? Bah! What do you know about our operation?
[2/7] Ethelthor: Apparently more than I thought. That idiot Angar must have told you everything.
[3/7] Ethelthor: He's gone now. I sacrificed him to start the ritual. Speaking of which, it's starting!
Lava spews out of the top of the altar.
[4/7] Ethelthor: See? Our ritual has already begun! There's no way to stop us!
[5/7] Ethelthor: Well, I suppose someone could go into the altar and get rid of the artifact...
    [6/7] Ethelthor: ...
[7/7] Ethelthor: I said that out loud, didn't I? Darn! Just.. Ignore what I just said.

    [Quest Book Updated]

If you talk to him after this step:
[1/1] Ethelthor: Yes, keep wasting time by talking to me instead of going into the altar... I said it again, didn't I? Argh!

If you talk to him after this quest:
[1/2] Ethelthor: You may have stopped us here, but we will return! ...Actually you may have foiled us for good.
[2/2] Ethelthor: Destroying that artifact... There isn't a suitable replacement in all of Wynn!

Go into the altar. (Step 8)

If you try to enter before this step:
You get the feeling that entering is a bad idea.

If you try to enter during this step:
You suddenly feel like this was a bad idea.
    [Quest Book Updated]

    Talk to Angar. (Step 9)

There is no way to talk to him before this step.

If you try to talk to him during this step:
[1/13] Angar: Human! So, you've been tossed down here too?
[2/13] Angar: What? You came willingly? Wow, I misjudged your courage.
[3/13] Angar: So... Ethelthor realized that I had stolen the Liquified Emerald from Arred, and that I had accidentally dropped the plans.
[4/13] Angar: That's how you knew to come here, right? Anyways, he somehow didn't notice that there was no lava down here.
[5/13] Angar: He also sent down his indestructible golem down here, to put the artifact in place.
[6/13] Angar: Luckily, I was expecting him to throw me down here. So, I prepared a spell that can deactivate the golem.
[7/13] Angar: Unfortunately, I forgot the spell at home. But, I do have the recipe in my head. All we need is some paper...
[8/13] Angar: Wait! You have the plans, right? Give them to me! I can write on the back.
You give Angar the Evil Plans. He flips it over so he can write on it.
[9/13] Angar: Right, for this spell, I'll need some ingredients. They shouldn't be hard to find.
[10/13] Angar: First, [1 Earthen Shell]. They are often found around golems, so you can find one there.
[11/13] Angar: Next, [1 Electrified Stone]. I've seen those popping around near Electric Imps, those roam around down here as well.
[12/13] Angar: Finally, I need [1 Aquified Flower]. These are rare in an area as hot as this, but they have been spotted growing near magma.
[13/13] Angar: You go collect those, I'll start writing.

    [Quest Book Updated]

    Ethelthor's Golem
    Lvl. 1000
    Health: 1000000
    Damage: 0
    AI: None
    Attack Type: None
    Movement Speed: None
    Spawn Rate: High
    Drop: None.
    (Earthen Shells drop around it)

    Electric Imp
    Lvl. 55
    Health: 1000
    Damage: 10
    AI: Move towards target
    Attack Type: Melee
    Movement Speed: High
    Spawn Rate: Normal
    Drop: 1 [Electrified Stone] (100%)
    (Spawn in the altar)

    Aquified Flower
    Lvl. 50
    Health: 10
    Damage: 0
    AI: None
    Attack Type: None
    Movement Speed: None
    Spawn Rate: High
    Drop: 1 [Aquified Flower] (100%)
    (Spawn around lava pits)

If you talk to him after this step:
[1/1] Angar: Do you need a reminder? I need [1 Earthen Shell], [1 Electrifed Stone], and [1 Aquified Flower].

If you talk to him after the quest:
[1/1] Angar: So, you're stuck down here again? Well, might as well teleport you out.
    This teleports you to Arred.

Bring Angar [1 Earthen Shell], [1 Electrified Stone], and [1 Aquified Flower]. (Step 10)

If you talk to him during this step:
[1/4] Angar: You have the materials? Good. Let me use them.
Angar splits the earthen shell in two. Dust falls onto the writing.
Angar grabs the electrified stone. He visibly cringes as he touches it. The stone zaps the paper.
Angar pours some of the liquified nectar off of the flower, onto the paper.

[2/4] Angar: And it's done! Let me use it.
    [3/4] Angar: {jumbled up words}
[4/4] Angar: There! You should now be able to pass the golem! Just bring me the [1 Ancient Artifact], so I can teleport us out using its power.

    [Quest Book Updated]

If you talk to him after this step:
[1/1] Angar: Come on, go bring me the artifact so we can both get out of here!

Bring Angar [1 Ancient Artifact]. (Step 11)

If you try to enter before this stage:
The golem doesn't seem to want to let you pass.

If you talk to him during this step:
[1/6] Angar: Okay there, just hand me the artifact!
You hand the artifact to Angar.
[2/6] Angar: Oh... the power! I've never felt anything this powerful...
[3/6] Angar: I can't believe I even thought about giving this back to you.
[4/6] Angar: Although it would please me to kill you, human, I owe you. So I will send you back to Arred.
[5/6] Angar: Just so he doesn't get suspicious, bring him this fake artifact.

    [+1 Fake Artifact]
[6/6] Angar: Don't tell him about giving me the artifact. It's better if he doesn't know.
    [Quest Book Updated]
    This teleports you to Arred.

Give Arred [1 Fake Artifact]. (Stage 12)

If you talk to him during this step:
[1/5] Arred: Human! I assume you got the artifact back?
You hand Arred the fake artifact.
[2/5] Arred: Huh... This feels lighter than usual. I guess they must have drained its power.
[3/5] Arred: Anyways, I must thank you for getting this back. If this had fallen into the wrong hands...
[4/5] Arred: I can't even think about it, it's too bad. For your reward, I suppose I can give you some emeralds.
[5/5] Arred: Here. I hope you help more people out on your journey, hero!

    [Quest Completed: The Emerald Debacle]
    [+640 Emeralds]
    [+175000 Experience Points]

If you talk to him after the quest:
[1/2] Arred: Thank you again for retrieving this artifact for me. If it had gotten into the wrong hands...
[2/2] Arred: You DID give me the real one, right?

Alright, so that's my quest! Feel free to criticize me, but I won't be able to respond for a few hours.

    Changelog:
[24/1/17] : Changed a few things; Replaced Xs with numbers.
[25/1/17] : Fixed the low level message. It used to say 55 instead of 59.
[25/1/17] : Made the text darker so that Light Theme users can see the dialogue easier.
[26/1/17] : Changed LE to Liquified Emerald.

    actually quite like this.
The only part that confuses me is why does Agnar get to keep the real artifact? He's the (kinda) bad guy. Arred is the good guy.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I should probably edit the quest a tiny bit, I'll do that now. Thanks for the feedback though!

I think it should be lvl 59 instead of 55. There is a quest gap there and it seems like this quest would fit that well. For lvl 59, you could buff the xp to 2ook or 150k (because it's 300k to 60), and the emerald amount is good.

Also, why is there another demon?
    It's just like Naragath.
"oh hey let's just put a random demon here that has no relation to the main lore at all! what a great idea!"

The quest itself is pretty good. Although I had a hard time picturing the surroundings or where they actually where.

Oh... lol. I changed the level of the quest when @Poiu429 suggested to make it level 59. Then I didn't change that dialogue. It should be fixed now!
And the quest takes place in Troms. I couldn't actually find a place to put him, since Troms is full of Inns and shops, with literally no free houses.

    ________________________________
Well, when I first created the thread, I was thinking about the quest as a level 55 one. Later, I changed it to 59 without editing the emerald amount. I'll do some research and pick a better amount for the level. Thanks for the feedback!

EDIT: I looked at the emerald reward for the quests around that level area, and 640 emeralds is a good amount. (640 is 10 EB)

Hey I actually really like this quest, the only thing I would change is that you could write Liquified Emerald instead of LE, because it seems more formal and i dont think it fits that the folk of wynn uses the abbreviation LE.
