I look at kraftys thread for a second amd then started writing this...

So, what is item crafting? i here you ask....
Its where you get to make your own items!!!! much exclamation mark such wow

Anyhow, so the idea is that you can make highly customizable weapons with tons upon tons of different outcomes. There are 3 parts of craftable items, but could vary alot
The first part is the handle. There are many items you ciuld use, and they deal with 2 factors. Comfortableness and Practicality.
    Items used:
Nivla Wood: 1 comfortablnes, 0 practicality (+2 Levels)
    Ocelot Tail: 5 C, 3 P (+ 10 Levelsa)
    Naga Tail: 7 C, 2 P (+15 Levels)
    Jungle Wood: 0 C, 8 P (+ 10 Levels)
    Oak Wood: 1 c, 2 p (+ 1 Level)
    Rotten Flash: 0c, 0p (+ 0 Levels)
    Troll Hair: 10 c, 0p (+ 20 Levels)
    Cow Hide: 2 c, 3p (+ 6 Levels)

    Comfortableness Explained:
1 Comfort = More Accuracy. How does this work? Your AoE is expanded abit. For archers they just shoot closer to the crossbar.
Practicality: +3% Attack Speed per point

Handguard: This part just holds the blade to the handle, making it less likely to break when making the weapon.
    Oak Wood: 60% chance success
    Birch Wood: 70% Success
    Spruce Wood: 80% Success
    Jungle Wood: 90% Success

Blade: This part is the most important part, as it handles the damage.
    Oak Wood: 1-3 Damage (+ 1 Leel)
    Birch Wood: 4-8 Damage(+5 Levels)
    Spruce Wood: 9-15 Damage(+ 14 Levels)
    Jungle Wood: 16-24 Damage(+18 Levels)
Adandoned Iron (Abandoned Mines) : 25-50 Damage (+ 16 Levels)
    Karoc Quartz: 51-79 Damage (+ 23 Levels)
Teeth (Any kind) 5 Damage (+ 2 Levels)
Lusuco Steel: 58-91 Damage (+21 Levels)
Gollier Iron: 78-130 Damage (+34 Levels)
The first part is the stick. It uses 4 of each item that is listed below. There are many items you ciuld use, and they deal with 2 factors. Comfortableness and Practicality.
    Items used:
Nivla Wood: 1 comfortablnes, 0 practicality (+2 Levels)
    Jungle Wood: 0 C, 8 P (+14 Levels)
    Spruce Wood: 2c, 3 p (+ 10 Levels)
    Oak Wood: 1 c, 2 p (+ 1 LEvel)
    Birch Wood: 2p, 3c(+ 4 Levels)
    Iron Bars: 0p, 10 p (+ 27 Levels)
    Gold Bars: 7 p, 2 c (+ 23 Levels)

Blade: This part is the most important part, as it handles the damage.
Oak Wood: 1-3 Damage (+1 Levels)
    Birch Wood: 4-8 Damage (+ 3 Levels)
    Spruce Wood: 9-15 Damage (+ 12 Levels)
    Jungle Wood: 16-24 Damage ( + 19 Levels)
Adandoned Iron (Abandoned Mines) : 25-50 Damage (+ 22 Levels)
    Karoc Quartz: 51-79 Damage (+ 31 Levels)
Teeth (Any kind) 5 Damage (+ 3 Levels)
    Lusuco Steel: 58-91 Damage (+ 36 Levels)
    Gollier Iron: 78-130 Damage (+ 58 Levels)

    Archer Stuff: SoonTM

    Same with mage...

Now for enchanting! This part is for those strategic tryhards... Royal Bug Blood gives 1 fire damage per everytime you add it, while water aura adds water damage, and idk what else for other elements... you devs come up with something.

And thats it! for now.... Hope you guys enjoyed...

First of all, this is very similar to my Blacksmith thread that I made a while back. The only difference I can see is that instead of using junk items to make an item, you make a handle, blade, etc. This idea is interesting, however the coding that would go into these combinations would be so excruciatingly hard to make that I personally would not implement this.

To expand on the complexity, there would have to be a separate item for every combination (which there are a lot of), making the AoE change sizes is close to rewriting the melee damage system for every class, which is terribly hard to do, and lastly, having increments of 3% attack speed forces many more levels of attack speed to exist, which isn't easy either. Also, I can imagine there being small amounts of lag from this.

Secondly, the combinations you could make might be way to powerful, however I understand that the examples listed are just simply examples and most likely wouldn't reflect the final values if this was implemented. Also, adding on to this, if Royal Bug Blood gives 1 fire damage per item, you could theoretically have infinite fire damage, especially since Royal Bug Blood is very easy to achieve.

Lastly, you never explained what the "+x Levels" meant. I assume it reflects what level the weapon itself would be when the parts are put together, but I may be wrong, and please correct me if I am.

Aside from these flaws, I support the idea, especially since my idea was so similar. Being able to customize items would be a huge enhancement to the game, and if there was a way to implement this without the tremendous amounts of work, I would be quite pleased. Thank you for coming up with this idea, and for taking the time to make this thread!

Firstly, the code wouldn't be too hard. You just hit up the nbt tags, and it does math for what level and damage values, etc.

It would still be the same as adding a new item, which takes time. Also, I forgot to ask this earlier, would there be any stats other than damage?

Yeah. There is comfort and practicalaity, for archer practicality is more like accuracy.

I didn't understand that comfort and practicality were the stats, sorry about that. However, adding new stats is difficult and I don't believe any of the content team is planning on adding any new stats soon, but these two stats are good ideas and would help in game.

Just like I say with every thread, this is GOOD, but the chance of it being added is very slim, close to none.

The only thing I'm gonna say is I don't like the whole "comfort" name. You could better just call it "accuracy" or something.
