World Renaming Weapons :d

IDEA !:

So I was thinking that the letter attack effect looked cool with my manablast, and I wanted to come up with a good name, but sadly, "Knowledgeblast" can't exist because there is now way to rename weapons. Yes this is similar to CSGO, it's a cosmetic feature, so it's not gameplay affecting. I was thinking that VIP, VIP+, and HERO could "rename" the weapon they have out in their hand. The weapon could probably be untradeable (thanks for the criticism) and a reset tag to make it tradable again.

This could probably go into the gear skins category, a weapon nametag

IDEA 2:

This idea is probably better, but a namesmith might be good, like a namesmith near detlas or something, because things are renamed by anvils in minecraft. And a small fee of emeralds would be traded for a name tag, or you pay, then a sign appears asking what you want to rename your weapon to. The weapon could probably be untradeable (thanks for the criticism) and a reset tag to make it tradable again.

IDEA 3: (EDIT)

I mean it could just be weapon subtitles, like
Bob's Mythic Bow (bob's mythic n0sc0p3r)
or
Knowledgeblast (Manablast)
like that or something.

 

This would really just confuse the market.

Example:
"SELLING ULTRA MEMESTAFF 9001 and SUPER ZODIAC BOOTS for 100 LE" - Detlas Citizen

Who knows what those are? To find out what the item really is you'd have to go check in the trade GUI, which isn't the worst, but rather unnecessary. Plus, renaming items to other items could be a real problem.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think it would work well for Wynncraft. As mentioned above, it would probably be no good other than to confuse the market. It's a bit of a stretch, but if implemented, this idea could possibly be used to scam those who do not pay attention when trading.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to name my weapons all kinds of stupid shit

 

Perhaps instead of being able to change the main name of a weapon a 'sub-name' can be set by the player, like a subtitle (as in alternative title).

Instead of shooting it down for a single flaw, try to fix the flaw.

Make it so renamed weapons are untradeable, but wait, there's more.
At whatever GUI you change the name of your weapon at, there will be another option to reset the name to make it sellable.
And there you have it. Fixed.

(Also how in the world would you scam someone unless they had absolutely no idea what they were doing, who in the world doesn't look at ids before trading)?

 

There's one guy called Tazerinq (I think) that has been trying to scam multiple people with an alkatraz by swapping it out with a rare really quick towards the end of the trade. I was able to catch him doing it, but I've spoken to people who weren't quite so careful.

There's no reason for me to "fix" the flaw if I don't think the premise would work in the first place.

 

And why wouldn't it work?
Most MMOs allow customizeable weapons and armor, generally through crafting, that you can name and enchant yourself, making an item geared toward your build.
Names would be just fine, as long as it was a small fee, or if it was a donator perk.
It isn't impossible to code I don't think.
And if they're untradeable, there wouldn't be people showing off their -

 

It's fine to just point out the flaw; it's their suggestion, and probably won't like it if you're too aggressive and try to commandeer their thread either
