Game Design Make Assassin's Charge Thing Reduce Fall Damage?

    So assassin finally got buffed :D
    I really like the mini-charge thing you get when you cast vanish, but I think it you should maybe take no fall damage from this charge, or the fall damage you take should be reduced. This might sound a little OP as assassin just got buffed, but every class can cast a spell to not take any fall damage, except assassin. And keep in mind that archer can cover greater distances, jump higher, get a longer speed boost, do damage with the stomp thing, and not get their mana drained with the Escape spell. I also think it would kinda make sence, I imagine the little charge thing as a roll/front flip or something, which kinda reduces broken bones if you jump off of something high irl too I guess.

    idk if i would make it remove fall dmg because otherwise ppl like me would just use it for flying around ._. and even if it would probs balance it out compared to the other classes if it removed fall dmg i dont think that vanish charge is intended to be a potential spell for flying ._. however i would definitely agree that it should reduce the fall dmg due to the fact that with this change its also easier to take fall dmg if you now carelessly vanish.

    Warrior charge is op, I fell through the gap in Molten Heights and just spent 3 mana to negate about 10000 hp worth of fall damage

    It's already used as a flying spell, even with the fall damage. The removal of fall damage would be extremely useful for jumping on enemies, so

    modpack if you want to do 1.8+ and most are in 1.8 anyways so it's not a huge issue

    Curse doesn't work half the time and my resource pack is broken in 1.8.

    you can fix the resource pack you know, I've done it many times to make it work for other versions also Curse works just fine for me

    Well with archer you have to time spider jump rly well if your knocked off a cliff. If you find yourself falling all of a sudden then it's hard to negate the dam.

    Honestly the charge should only remove fall damage if used just before, so a few blocks above the ground that way you can't really abuse it too easily

    Sorry that i took ages to reply i kinda forgot ;D but anyways... if i get you right... since ppl (including me) use it the completely unintended way... you want to make it evwn easier for them/ us to use it this way? ._. Idk to me that seems like(bad example incomming) the way ppl abused cancer+ taurus and then imagine the reaction: oh wow seems like everyone uses it in a way we didnt want them to. I guess we should give cancer more tier attack speed .-.

    The only way why i am not completely abusing the assassin vanish is because of the fall dmg penalty. Because of that i actually have to use it wisely and actually be sure that i wont die from the fall. I really prefer it this way... everythibg else seems a bit too easy and unintended to me. (Also is it just me or does fall dmg actually increase after the vanish charge? Its always veerry painful if i fail at the jump o.O )

    Remember, unlike charge, this can only be used a maximum of 6 times in a row before you have to unvanish and wait AT LEAST four seconds to use it again, and by then you'd be on the ground. Also, unlike charge, you gain no vertical height, so you have to get to higher ground to even use it, which then punishes you unnecessarily for falling, as, unlike other classes, assassin has no way to negate fall damage, meaning that traversing mountainous terrain, like the Canyon of the Lost, or jumping large gaps or lava lakes, like the skylands and molten heights, is unnecessarily difficult for assassin, especially compared to other classes.

    And if they really wanted people to stop abusing spells like this, they would remove fall damage from charge. It seems pretty obvious they know it exists, and that people are using it to their advantage, as well as abusing it to negate fall damage and even charge surf, yet they leave it be because it's convenient and doesn't harm anyone. Vanish should be treated similarly, as being able to traverse terrain without having to worry about fall damage would be nice.

    Besides, hitting the ground would cause you to unvanish anyways, which is more or less a penalty in and of itself.
